I got it. It doesn't span the time of two generations, but rather appeals to the demographics of two generations. Its confusing because most of that section is discussing how long the show ran, then the word "span" can have a time connotation in addition to a space connotation.

It makes me think of, like statutorily-enforced diversity quotas. I think you mean, like, Nickelodeon has decided to develop her as a star, with some assurance that she'd have a vehicle available to her in order to do that. Maybe "iCarly exists to satisfy a development contract" or something like that. Also, this sentence is a bit awkward; quotas aren't named individuals, they are quantity levels.

6 seasons can span the gap of two generations? I usually think of a minimum 20 years between generations. I'm not sure I follow the logic. Maybe, like, 6 years is enough to graduate a class of kids from grade school into middle school, or middle into high school? Is that the significance you want to convey? (Yes, technically there can be a mere moment between the last member of the previous generation and the first member of the next generation, but that's a special case and not usually relevant to whatever point is being made when talking about generations.)

I'm currently at my day job, so I can't offer a lot of input atm, but the only thing I've really noticed so far is that you should probably change "best web shows on the web" to "best web shows on the internet" in the second paragraph to avoid repeating the same word too quickly. Everything else seems great so far! I've read the whole intro and will probably read the rest when I get home tonight
