Apple has made some unfortunate changes lately that will add a whopping 30% additional fee to your monthly subscription price if you sign up for Patreon via an iOS device (phone or tablet).
That fee goes straight to line Apple's pockets and not to the creator or Patreon.
Save yourself some coin and simply subscribe via your desktop web browser. You can download the app and sign in after that, but make sure you pay via desktop so you're not charged unnecessarily.
I'm so sorry for any inconvenience that this causes but there was nothing us creators could do about it. It was a necessary stipulation Patreon had to accept in order to stay in the iOS app store.
For those of you who signed up prior to September 31st, there will be no change for you as long as you stay subbed. If you need to cancel and want to come back in future, just make sure you sign up via desktop.
