Partial Update to 0.11b!

The most current version of Harem Residence, version 0.11b, is available to download~!

There's quite a bit to be said, so let's break this post in three parts, shall we?

Part One. What's new?

This partial update is focused reworking some early scenes and added some mechanics.

A new addition to Harem Residence are Achievements. As you can probably guess, you unlock those by achieving random stuff in-game. Some of them are pretty easy and straightforward, like meeting the girls, while others are a bit more grindy.

Mainly added for completionists and those who like to squeeze as much of the game they can, each achievement currently rewards you with two things. The first reward is an unique render. And the second reward is a passive bonus to your weekly income.

You can view the achievements in your own profile page. There's going to be a total of 84 achievements, but you can already unlock 60.

One of the requirements to meet Ai, Hibiki, Otome and Sakura is unlocking the second building with Kasumi and going there at least once. Some players, however, never tried going there and as a result, the girls didn't join the harem, causing players to get stuck and confused wondering who they are missing.

To fix this, I reworked how you can interact with Kasumi for the first time. New saves are now forced to talk with Kasumi about house improvements before you can spend time with her. And she now takes you to the second building personally. This should be more than enough to get this sorted.

Kasumi's early lewd events have a continuity error with Kasumi making you lay on her bed, however... she doesn't have a bed, but a futon instead. This bothered me since the very first release of the game, so I decided to fix it.

So Kasumi's first two lewd events got remade from scratch. Their quality has improved (even if I say so myself) quite a bit and are more detailed.

You can use the Memories function to watch them if you wanna check them out.

The whole "Going to sleep" chain of events got remade from scratch. This is in preparation for new night invasions that will involve multiple girls instead of just one. This also allows me to add similar events to some other locations, like Fumiko's house, or Mizuho's apartment.

This rework also changes the priority of events. Now the Sunday Events take priority over Character Events, so no more missed Sundays because a girl happened to wake you up with one of her events.

Your room now also has an option to lock the door, so you don't get sudden night visits from the girls... in case you're tired of watching those again and again...

This won't prevent story events from happening, though. Only sleeping together and lewd wake ups.

Reworked the main nine's "sleep together" and "lewd wake up" events. They're more detailed and wholesome/lewd. This also adds the same type of events for Fumiko, if you stay at her place.

Now, this update was supposed to also rework the night bath scenes, but some stuff happened (read Part 2) so I had to push them for a future patch. However, Ai's night bath scenes are complete, so you can go peek at her.

The lobby of Aurora Massage Parlor was a bit... rushed... so I took some time and built a new, more cozy lobby. As result, the lobby scenes of Aurora were remade. However, the conversations that happen there remain pretty much the same, so need to fret if you cleared what was available already.

This also added a tiny bit more of content for Erina. But a tiny bit, as this patch wasn't focused on Aurora.

I wanted to add the repeatable Interactions that Kasumi has to the rest of the main nine, but this also is going to be pushed to future updates (read Part 2). However, Ai got hers, so go check them out.

And speaking of repeatable scenes. This patch adds some missing repeatable lewd scenes with Ai, Ayase&Kasumi and Maya&Miya.

The Skip Time button was still causing issues at some locations, so it got fixed again.

Some players got a bit confused progressing through the storyline of some of the girls (mainly Chitose, Hibiki, Kasumi, Otome and Sakura), because they require some Sunday Events. To give more information to players, their hints got tweaked a bit. Hopefully, this will help.

The Mysterious Heroine VI now has a cheat that allows you to switch between Tsubaki's casual and thug profile pictures.

And finally, this patch also fixes several typos and grammar mistakes. Huge thanks to newsjynx submitting so many reports!

If you ever felt like playing HR from scratch, now would be a good time.

Part 2. Why did I take so long for this update?

Yeah. I'm really sorry about that. Things have been pretty... difficult... on my end...

A lot of annoying stuff happening that's eating my free time. My health is also not improving, which makes hard for me to stay late and work on the game. Plus, my landlord decided to be an asshole, and that's quite stressing.

So, all of my time gets eaten by IRL responsibilities, trying to get better, and finding a new place to move into. I won't stop working on HR when I can, but things will be slow for a bit.

Part 3. What's next?

Okay, so, due to random stuff happening to me, my release schedule got all screwed up. But this is what I'm cooking, and you can expect for the following updates.

A new location to go with all the main nine heroines (think beach, or pool). I already prepared the locations, all I need to do is to start using them. This new location includes new extra characters for you to meet (and lewd), new outfits for the main nine and some other things.

Like with the repeatable pool event, this new location will require you to go there several times to fully complete, so it'll work as a secondary thing for players to do while waiting for updates and the sort.

I think I'll start with this, as I already have most of the new stuff prepared.

The Platinum girls, Kumiko and Sachie, are rather popular for some reason. I'm planning on adding one more event with them, to completely wrap the Platinum side-quest. This last event will be a fun, repeatable one, so yeah

Aurora also needs some expansion. New clients will join the roster. Also push a bit more content for Reina and Erina.

The Rick side-quest got already kickstarted, introducing a new extra character. However, players can't hang out with Rick right now, gotta fix this.

And finally, I've finished rewriting the stories of both Nagisa and Megumi. So you can expect content updates for them.

Getting all of this out of the way will give players a good pack of stuff to do, while I add content to the roster of the 21 girls.

I'm looking forward to showing you what I have been planning.
