I haven't read much of his work, admittedly, but I tried "Absalom, Absalom" while briefly in grad school and am pretty sure I threw it across the room after giving up on it. Depending on how you look at it, it was either that or 9/11 that caused me to drop out of grad school and begin the long slide into irrelevance that I'm currently on. William Faulkner can eat shit!
