It was this movie which I credit with my King fandom. I wanted to see the movie when it came out, but my mom wouldn't let me, so I read the book instead; it was my first by King, and a few years later I remembered him as the guy who'd written "The Running Man" and decided to give "The Stand" a read because it looked it. Which it was! The rest was history.
