I'll probably read them if they get written, but I *really* don't want anyone else to write Dark Tower books. I'd make an exception for Joe Hill, but even that would provoke a skeptical eyebrow from me. That's Steve's, period. As far as I'm concerned, at least.

2022-02-22 03:07:52 +0000 UTCThe sci-fi stuff should not work for even a second, and yet, it does. Worked almost totally for me. I think there are two reasons for this. #1, let's face it, we live in a world where we can now just send William Shatner into space for a few minutes; so we're not far away from this scenario being less sci-fi than just sci. #2, I think again of what King said he feels his job to be in the into to N&D -- he just wants to make people believe in things for a minute before their brains get involved. I think he and Chizmar did their jobs here. (Also, #3, I mean, shit, I love Star Trek, so I guess I'm predisposed for this stuff.)
