Stephen King Archives Vol. 6: The 1999 Accident

Constant Listeners, there is an archives to the Derry Private Library. Thanks to our Losers' Club historian Bryant Burnette, we have unearthed an entire vault of Stephen King material. From unpublished short stories to long-forgotten interviews, dusty manuscripts to alternate versions of your favorite tales, there is much to discuss...

This month, as we log into the year 2000, the Losers head into the Archives to revisit the crash that nearly took Stephen King's life on June 19th, 1999 in North Lovell, ME.

Together, the Losers chart the entire incident via interviews, news clips, and King’s own recollection in On Writing. They also wrestle with the complicated aftermath of Bryan Smith.

It's an emotional journey, to say the least, one that warrants a number of revelations and meditations on the bizarre circumstantial nature of our infinite universe.

Stay tuned for another journey into the Archives come March.

What a dive! So much information that was new to me, and as always and ever-appreciated, a pragmatic discussion on Stephen King-ness of it all

This is one of the best episodes yet!

Certainly wasn’t a ‘fun’ episode, but was a super interesting listen. Learned some things I didn’t know prior. Great research!

I'll be busy for the next 1:46:45, nobody bother me.

So tragic for everyone involved 😔 I had only heard whispers of what happened to Bryan, and the discussion was as nuanced and in-depth as I could’ve hoped. Very good episode!
