It's kinda a bummer to hear so many negative takes on a season that legit brought me joy (and sadness lol). I get it, I'm just a general fan but I really wasn't as displeased as some seem to be 😕

2022-07-19 19:30:05 +0000 UTCAs good as Max and SS was playing the role, I never really bought her extreme trauma over the whole Billy thing. As Caleb, who plays Lucas said, he's a horrible person, why am I supposed to care? It was a real weakness of S3 for me, and a kind of WTF in S4 for Max. It's like we have traumatized characters like El and Will and Will seems to get short shrift of it. It was kind of weird. However, the Max scenes and Lucas also were powerful and made me cry. The basis of it was just strange.

Also, not a fan of extreme retcons for origin of Upside Down, when original tale from S1/2 felt so much cleaner. However, S4 is much more entertaining for me than S3. I found S3 boring in its emphasis on Russia, Billy, and side characters steamrolling should be main characters (the whole Will being sidelined thing). It's a flawed enterprise all around, but I do love the show and hope S5 brings it home in a way that makes the whole series stand strong.

I agreed with alot of what was said; mainly this was too long and drawn out but it might be my favorite season. I love midi of the new characters but was never a fan of Max or Billy even though I think Billy was a needed element.
