2023-06-23 01:04:34 +0000 UTCFor Novels, I think my original read of Salem's Lot (at age 13) was the scariest. For shorts, I think The Jaunt, or maybe The Raft. And as a side note: I was pretty creeped out by his son's novel, Heart Shaped Box.

2023-05-30 18:10:27 +0000 UTCWeirdly enough I think the Outsider was probably the most genuinely creeped out I’ve been reading a Stephen King book just for those couple of pages where the outsider is talking to the kid in the bedroom and the cop (?) in the bathroom. Two very unsettling moments in a book that I did not really care for otherwise.

It cz pennywise did lesser shit alot, random floating balloons n such so I'd hear something in the other room and have to stop for a sec, lol. The Outsider cz I'd think of that playdo faced thing standing in the dark when leaving for work in the morning 😅 honorable mention to that lawn jockey from Duma key cz of how it was described as running around so fast 😬

2023-05-25 19:26:18 +0000 UTCThis is a hard one. There are like four or five of his novels that scared the crap out of me but Pet Sematary might take that prize in my opinion. I remember reading that novel in my living room, broad daylight, and I got into one of the bog scenes and I was startled by a knock at my front door. Spooked, I went to go answer the knock and no one was there! 😦
