I know it's been a long time since you initially watched this episode, but it seems you didn't understabd WHY Joyce had to move. Hope said in the second episode that he "spoke to Gary and he's sold your house." Joyce was renting all this time and the landlord sold the house. So her moving had nothing to do with her loss of Bob & Hop.
