Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.1 Reaction

REACTION

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.1 Reaction

Comments

There is nothing to suggest that the person the sword presents itself to is the only one who can use it. I don’t know why people think this is true. Also, the person who left the sword in the lake, according to JK, herself, left it there because they were being an asshole

Jobard

Okay I mention it before but I am having a buffering problem but other then that the video works fine it only buffers at certain points and all I have to do is skip ahead a few seconds to get around it.

austin

Your hatred for Umbridge is so delightful. I think we've found someone you hate even more than The watcher's Council in Buffy. LOL And you want yet another reason to hate her? In the movie they don't say this, but in the books, it's revealed that the moving eye used as the keyhole in the door of Umbridge's office is Mad-Eye Moody's eye.

Raven Dark

I didn't mind the way the Minster said that, I think because to me, the idea was the he didn't get it. He was misunderstanding how the sword worked, and I think that was supposed to be the point. Though I also see why you interpret it the way you do, and why you don't like it.

Raven Dark

Only either the first 2 or the first 3 got an extended version... They haven't made one yet for the others... don't know why... it's as if they don't want my money cause I guarantee you I would throw all of mine at it if they did

Talon Karrde

I don't know if I would consider it a spoiler as it's never revealed in the book or movie. Since I don't knoow if he's already finished watching DH part 2 or not, I recommend asking Liam if he wants to be told.

PaperLuigi99

I actually haven’t read the books in their entirety, but I do know some details that were absent in the films that I’ve been wanting to share with Liam. Like how, when a student is expelled from Hogwarts, their wand is broken.

Zuko Halliwell

Would it be a spoiler if I told Liam Umbridge’s fate? Because, after reading your comment, I really want to.

Zuko Halliwell

That scene is in the movie in the extended version, every movie in the extended version have the deleted scenes tho

Mariela Oquendo Rodríguez

A lot of people doesn’t like this movie so much cause its eerie and a little depressing but that’s what makes it a great movie and it’s a great building for the last one ❤️ can’t wait!!!!!! Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix it’s AMAZING, she make you hate the character more than you hate Voldemort, same with Imelda Staunton as Umbridge 👌🏻

Mariela Oquendo Rodríguez

This movie has one of my favorite callbacks from Chamber of Secrets and its a small detail, but in Chamber Of Secrets, Harry didn't even know he wasn't speaking English when he was talking to snakes, so when the snake dresses as Bathilda Bagshot, the snake waiting for Hermione to not be around before it talked so Harry would think hes still speaking English and I really love that little detail. You were also correct about the Invisibility Cloak, Harry is a direct descendant of Ignotus Peverell whose grave is the one Hermione found and the original owner of the Invisibility cloak that got passed down generations and finally got passed down to Harry. Also Voldemort is the descendant of Cadmus Peverell who had the resurrection stone

Suzanne Austen

Mine won’t work? Anyone else having this problem and know how to fix it

Lauren

One small thing that always did bother me was development with Lupin & Tonks, their relationship just kinda being all in the background. Cause not only that, and it ain't revealed in the movie or Part 2, the news that Remus tells Harry at some point in Part 1 of the book, that Tonks is pregnant with a kid, they later name him Teddy. And Remus asks Harry if he could be his Godfather..like Sirius..which he excepts. Ain't really a spoiler since it wasn't included.

Flashy Wolf

You’ll love them! Even if you know what’s going to happen. There’s many characters not even in the movies at all. And the explanations of things are much better (duh). Thanks for responding, take care!

Ashley Moffatt

Thank you Ashley for enjoying the videos and the comments on the little details. I try to retain most stuff 😊I do plan to read the books at some point especially for expansion of lore in the world of Hogwarts

Liam Catterson

Can we all pay respects to Dobby the absolute G who only ever did what he could to help Harry and saved the entire world by protecting him to his last breath

JDezzy2001

Ps- you’re rather quick! Most people don’t catch a lot of the little details.

Ashley Moffatt

You mentioned you haven’t read the books....”yet”. Are you planning on it or thinking about reading them? Thanks for the videos! I have a serious obsession with watching first timers morph into full blown potterheads and seeing how fast they catch onto things.

Ashley Moffatt

Thanks for checking! When I checked back this afternoon it let me in and I was able to finish the rest. I won’t spoil the books since you hinted you were going to read them. I will say pretty much all of your questions/concerns from the first movie to the last are addressed in the books. I will say too there is a “scene” that happens in the Lovegood’s house that wasn’t in the movie that will make you love Luna 10 times more. Lastly I was not disappointed by your honest reaction to Emma’s screams. When you take a step back and remember this is a movie and that was an actress, that scene with her screams is so terrifyingly mind blowing. There’s a blog where someone asked David Yates about it, and he commented that he yelled cut early because he told Emma it was getting scary. Can’t wait to see your opinion of the final movie and franchise as a whole. 🙂

JL Atkins

Completely agree, leaving it out is such an injustice to Dudleys character. It's the best Dudley moment there is

Tana

Tbh they should've included that in the actual movie because that would've been development. That would've been great to witness with my own eyes so pretty sad that it got left out

Liam Catterson

I've just tested in on a private browser and it seems fine for me. Seems like there is a limit to how much can be played in a certain time frame, which sucks and is something I'll make sure to resolve

Liam Catterson

Help please. When I try to watch this one I keep getting stopped .. ‘The number of allowed playbacks has been exceeded’. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve waited 24 hrs and tried again and still getting the same error. 😩

JL Atkins

Can I point a thing out about Dudley? Dudley was deeply effected by the dementer attack that happened in film 5. Harry hardly talks to him in book 6… remember dementers are invisible to muggles, and Harry had his wand out (which is why Dudley assumes it was Harry at that point). The Dementers make you visit your worst memories and jkr has confirmed that Dudley saw himself for who he was. this is relevent to this film because there is a deleted scene that I think you should see, before fully hating on Dudley. It's still a case where the book did it better, but I highly recommend watching this scene

Tana

.,.........I just got myself a wooden sword. I need to test it...

Liam Catterson

You say the brotherly/sister dynamic, and then I remember Fitzsimmons from Agents of SHIELD were supposed to have that haha. It was still a lovely moment and I recognised Catelyn, just I was about to make mention before Hermione did that

Liam Catterson

Do you want another reason to hate Umbridge? She admitted in the 5th book that she was the one who sent the dementors after Harry. Not as a way to get him expelled, but to have his soul destroyed. Being kissed by a dementor is worse that death. You're still alive, but you're just an empty shell. You have no mind, no memory, and no sense of self anymore. Your soul is gone forever. The fact that she tried to have this done to a 15 year old boy is beyond deplorable. Not to mention that many of the muggleborns she interrogated received this fate.

PaperLuigi99

This is one of the least liked HP movies, and I think unfairly so. There was so much info to cover in the final book that they needed to split it into 2 movies and there is just no clear stopping point and no satisfying conclusion like the other movies. Looking back, the scenes of the 7 Harrys at the beginning, Harry and Ron’s fight, the battle with the snake in Godric’s Hollow, destroying the horcrux at the pond, and the explanation of the deathly hallows by Luna’s dad were super exciting and on par with any other action scenes in the other movies.

PaulaC

Members of the fandom are called Potterheads, yes. I am not thrilled with the wording that the minister of magic chose to use regarding the sword. He said the sword “may present itself to any worthy Gryffindor”, but the truth is that the sword will present itself to a Gryffindor in times of need under conditions of bravery. Whoever left that sword in the pond for Harry knew that, and intended for Harry to be brave and jump into the frozen pond to retrieve it. The locket wasn’t having it, though. So, Ron grabbed the sword while saving Harry. That’s why Ron had to be the person to destroy the horcruxes with it. Ron was the brave Gryffindor who retrieved the sword. The context with the statue at the ministry is that the muggles were being crushed. In the book scene during the Ron and Harry fight, Hermione cast a shield charm between them so they couldn’t hurt each other. And she was standing on Harry’s side of the shield. There was no chance she would ever leave. #rideordie I commented this on the last movie and will do so again here because I heard you make the same tiny mistake. The trio are operating on the assumption that there are 6 horcruxes, not 7. Voldemort split his soul into 7 parts, 6 of which are in horcruxes and 1 part remains in Voldemort himself. So, 3 of those 6 horcruxes have been destroyed and they need to find 3 more. Once all 6 horcruxes are gone, Voldemort is mortal just like any other person and can be killed for good.

PaulaC

Me too. I feel like the movies didn't give proper weight to any of the others in the books, you know? But Dobby's was just as written. 😭😭😭

Bixgirl1

R.A.B. is a bit more of a plot in the books as is all things surrounding House Elfs and Kreacher's relationship to his old master is no exception to that! Can't wait for Pt. 2 and I hope that you also continue on to watch the two newest Harry Potter films (Fantastic Beasts / Crimes of Grindelwald)!

Matt Varley

It’s working now 🙂. Dobby’s death is the one death in these movies that make me hard cry every damn time.

Meredith

random fact - the actress playing hermiones mum in the opening is catelyn stark haha.. also i love that harry/hermione dance, some people look at it romantically but i believe the actors said it intended to show their brotherly/sisterly relationship or friendship. he was watching her sitting there alone and wanted to cheer her up but sadly it didnt last long as she was just too upset. it wasnt in the books but its just a lovely moment

A.D

Can't play is that just me or is anybody else having this problem
