Its interesting that when the film came out, a lot of crititcs had problems with Newt. They didn't feel like he was a good movie hero that people would enjoy watching. And maybe they are right. After all, who would ever want to root for someone who is kind, compassionate and who's first instict is to talk rather than fight? What nonsense is that? No, what we want is another James Bond wannabe who is so overpowered that he can light up a whole country by smirking. I mean, a man who cares and have feelings for someone/something other than himself and his female of choice? Thats just ridiculous.

Newt is so adorable and incredibly sweet. Eddie Redmayne plays this character so brilliantly. He's such an amazing actor and is one of my very favorites. I love how awkward and shy Newt is, and yet he becomes friends with Jacob throughout the movie in spite of being more of a loner because he feels so awkward around everyone. I love their friendship. And I love how Newt is so comfortable and loving with the beasts he protects and cares for. His love for these beasts is beautiful. I also like Jacob a lot too, and Dan Fogler plays him so well. He's hilarious and lovable. And I really love his friendship with Newt throughout this movie. His romance with Queenie is really adorable too. I especially love the scene in the bar when Jacob drinks the giggle water both times and laughs out loud. So funny. Queenie and Tina are great characters too. I really like them a lot, and I like Grindelwald as a villain, played by both Colin Farrell when he's disguised as Mr. Graves, and Johnny Depp too. He's very creepy. Although, I definitely agree with you that this villain is very tame in comparison to villains such as Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter movies. And poor Credence too. It's sad and I really felt badly for him. I don't really care too much about his character, but his life is very sad. And the beasts from this world are beautiful and I love how there's an entire world full of them within Newt's suitcase, and that Newt is a protector of them. What a fabulous addition to the Harry Potter world and I love that this movie mentions Dumbledore as the one wizard who stood up for Newt and tried to protect him from being expelled from Hogwarts. Newt’s book would become a textbook for students at Hogwarts.. the textbook is literally called, “ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Oh and another fun fact... Newts’s grandson, Rolf Scamander would eventually end up marrying Luna Lovegood and they would have twin sons named Lorcan and Lysander... 🤗🤗

You deserve to get to experience the wizarding world on the big screen like the rest of us have had for years. We will still be here for your post review. Second, I know it was already stated above, but the Extended cut of the next film is a must. The theatrical cut they had to cut out quite a bit and while it all didn't even make it into the extended, at least some made it back in.

2020-09-08 04:02:09 +0000 UTCThe thing about the vial Newt used to obliviate the whole city, people assume it only erases the bad memories of it. All the damage done, the creatures, the fight, etc. For Jacob, it wasn't bad. He enjoyed his time with them although dangerous. That's why he was able to recall the creatures and shape his bakery items after them. For the most part he assumed it was a dream until he actually saw Queenie. This isn't confirmed but its a popular theory. Also, Credence really isn't a villian. He suppressed his magic and couldn't control the obscurus. He could listen but when you have all these people telling you different things, it is hard to know who to listen to. Harry was a different case. He had used magic without knowing he did, like the snake at the zoo. He never suppressed his magic cause he didn't know he had any. It's only in those who suppress it for extensive amounts of time.

2020-09-07 16:04:08 +0000 UTCThis movie and Crimes of Grindlewald don't explain this so its not really a spoiler, but Dumbledores sister, Arianna, was an obscurus because some muggle boys attacked her when they saw her practicing magic so she was scared of using magic. Her father attacked those boys and went to prison (which is mentioned in Deathly Hallows part 1) and then they moved to Godrics Hollow. Arianna had an obscurus outburst and accidentally killed her mother. Dumbledore and Grindlewald were best friends but Grindlewald started turning darker and Dumbledore didn't want to continue that path so he turned against him and Arianna died because she accidentally got struck in the 3 way crossfire between Dumbledore, his brother Abdoforth, and Grindlewald

2020-09-07 05:47:39 +0000 UTCThat was nice reaction to see and also sort of a refresh for me as I barely see this movie, but seems more pleasant and nice than I remembered. Same for the 2nd one, only seen it once and don't wanna say much as I rarely remember either. Who knows, you might enjoy it. Though when you do get around to the second one, I would want to recommend the Extended Cut of the 2nd one, which is pretty much the only Extended cut of any of the Harry Potter movies, aside from the first two of those ones, as there is so much story that was for some reason cut and don't know why it wasn't left in. If you do, be on the look out for the runtime, which is 142 minutes or 2 hrs and 22 min. Mostly preferred, but nice that you liked this.
