That end scene with the letter has been used many times in TV shows - notably in Blink in Doctor Who - re-watch the scene where Sally Sparrow gets the letter from her friend and you'll appreciate it more and how it's a homage to BTTF2.

You may have seen them, but in 2015, there were memes galore with images of Marty on a hoverboard, with people saying, "It's 2015, where's my hoverboard?" Liam, have you seen The Goonies? You should react to it. I think you'd really love it. It's another great 80's classic.
