What are you talking about? We know exactly who opened every single portal. It makes zero sense for any of this to be related to Dawn.

It would explain a bunch of portals opening up. I know it didn’t air in that order but it could be that Pylea story wasn’t meant to be so long at first.

2020-11-16 21:08:49 +0000 UTCHaving an extra fighter or three (depending on if Wesley and Gunn joined or if only Angel went) may have been enough for Spike or Buffy to actually reach Dawn before she was cut, causing the portal to not be opened, which would of course mean that Buffy wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself to close it. As for if the rest of the gang would help, I don't see Wesley *not* trying to help, being a former watcher. Gunn is a bit harder to figure out, he might have offered to stay behind in LA with his old gang to make sure things don't get too bad there while Angel is gone, but its also possible he would think that Glory trying to open hell on earth would be too important to not try and stop. And who knows what Cordy would do, she's grown a lot over the years as a character and is a lot less self absorbed than she used to be, but she's still not a fighter and the visions have been taking a toll on her lately. Speaking of the visions, who knows what would happen if Glory managed to get her hands on Cordy and suck her brains. Would the connection to the PtB power her up a bunch, or actually weaken her (or the more boring *nothing interesting would happen* option lol)? Would she take the visions from Cordy? Might be better to keep her away from Glory just in case lol.

2020-11-16 14:16:22 +0000 UTCThat ending is just heartbreaking. And the reason Joss sent the Angel gang to another dimension is so he couldn't help with Buffy's Glory problem. Like, because it was the end of the world, he needed to get his other heroes into another dimension so the audience wouldn't ask why they were helping. And, of course, there's a dramatic irony of Glory wanting to break down the walls between all dimensions while the Angel crew are in another dimension. I love this trilogy of episodes - lots of fun while Buffy is put through the wringer. And then the ending of this episode. *cries forever*
