Die Hard Reaction

Sorry, I think there was a glitch with this. Thankfully I've restored the file and it's back in full :)

Is the 2nd half somewhere else, this file is only first hour and thirteen minutes?

David Garrett

Spike even punches at the vents to see if he can find her.

Say it’s a Christmas movie or my patreon money walks. J/K. Great reaction. That was fun.

Came back to mention that the episode of Buffy School Hard was directly influenced by this film. It was called School Hard for that reason. Note that she has to crawl through the ceiling vents to save the hostages from "terrorists". Fun stuff!

I cant wait for you to react to Christmas movies! 😊 I love your reactions and reviews.

This comment keeps disappearing. What a great reaction. Heehee, that was a lot of fun. John Mcclane is my favorite action hero by far (topped perhaps only by Buffy). He's just so badass, but they also kept him very relatable. He's kickass, but without losing that every-man feel. This whole movie is so well done, especially for its time. They didn't make him cold and invincible, as they do with a lot of heroes like him. He gets scared, but without making him weak. And, let's not forget Hans. He was extremely well done. I loved Allen Rickman in that role, but then again, he was great in everything he did. RIP, Mr Rickman. Oh, yes, and there was security in the building. The guy behind the front desk on the main floor was one. Reception in a place like that often is also a security guard. I say this because there was also another guard by the elevators, and both were dressed the same, in company coats. The terrorists killed both of them, and then took their places. The one guy who you said was playing the perfect American, who took over the guy's place at the desk, was playing his role. That person's job would have been to watch the monitors at the front, cameras that would have shown different places around and in the building, and also to monitor anyone who goes in. The terrorist who killed the guy behind the desk and put on his coat was watching the game, but the idea there was that he was doing what a lot of security guards do, watching the game on the monitor instead of the security feed. Security work is often exceedingly boring, As as result, a lot of security guards do that, even though you aren't supposed to. He had the second guy at the elevators as back up. The second guard's duty would have been to make periodic rounds throughout the night, checking the building to make sure no one was there who shouldn't be, while the first guy stays at the desk to make sure the front doors and monitors are never left unattended. Another terrorist killed that second guy and disguised himself in his role. We saw him with his machine gun behind the wall when Powell was in talking to the terrorist who was pretending to be the desk guard. The debate over whether this is a Christmas movie rages on. LOL I like your description best--a Christmas movie on 'roids. LMAO The second film is (or is not) a Christmas movie in the exact same way, so you could watch it as a Christmas film or as part of your regular movie night thing, and it would still be fine. The third (Die Hard With A Vengeance) is not, but it is just as good. After that, IMO, the movies aren't as good and start feeling like just milking the cow long after it should still be milked. This movie also resulted in a million knock-offs, or should I say, the third one did. A lot of them are good, but, other than Die Hard 2 and 3, the only one-man-versus-terrorists film that equals this one is Speed, and only the first Speed does, Speed is basically Die Hard on a bus.. It sounds like it doesn't work, but it does, trust me. If you put that one on a poll, I would vote for it. Oh, and one more thing. When you have time, do yourself a fun favor. Go back and rewatch School Hard (Buffy S2, episode 3). That episode is even more fun to watch when you've seen this movie, because now you can see what they were doing. The parallels were genius. Can't wait for more movie reactions, and looking forward to seeing what Christmas movie comes up next!

If you remember Liam, Oliver Queen said Die Hard is his favourite Christmas movie. Stephen Amell said it was his, and it might have been his idea to have Oliver say that. Have you seen Ghostbusters? Have you heard of Steve Urkel in the UK?

David Brown

Yes!!! I figure I'll ask this now, because I keep meaning to and then forgetting. Have you seen A Knight's Tale? I'd love to see you react to it, and I think you'd really enjoy it.

Raven Dark

Yes! Not going to lie I’ve been stoked for this all day. Time for some holiday spirit with Liam!
