Early Acces: Endnote 4

Hey team!

This month's video is the footage from my talk at Solidarity Lowell. It is also the endnotes to How to Radicalize a Normie. I've also put up this bonus video, which is the Q&A section from after the talk.

The slides get a little out of sync now and then (there was lag between the iPad and the projector), but you should be able to follow everything.

Not sure when these are going public! Monday at the latest, but maybe over the weekend. Who knows?!

Early Acces: Endnote 4

Comments

Currently watching through the Q&A: I was really impressed after the question from the Q&A starting at 6:58 by how accurately, succinctly, eloquently, and ... charitably? compassionately? respectfully? you at 8:35 summed up that question. I'm guessing it's an argument you recognized (it's an argument I recognized), but your statement of it was really on point. And I completely agree with your response. Just wanted to share the compliment.

Ha, thanks! I was much more awkward when I spoke at Indivisible Somerville a couple years ago. It helps to get your talk finished in time to rehearse it! So far I've done talks when people invite me, but I've been thinking more about actually trying to get paid for talks at colleges and suchlike. It would be good to have additional revenue streams in case anything ever happens to Patreon.

"I just get excited" legitimately made me laugh.

Jamin Shih

Holy moly you’re a good public speaker. Do you think you’ll do more of this in the future?

Sabiryth

That is a missed opportunity.

Berettadin

this is the final version ya goof

Ian Danskin

Looking forward to the final version with our little friends the dupes!

some dingus

Good talk! I'm a little sad that no one in the q&a asked you to go off about these groups not being as competent as they claim.

Chris Tierney

Sources will be in the show notes when it goes public.

Ian Danskin

Damn good stuff. Please write down the names of the authors your cite, eh? Easier on lazy bags like me than guessing.

Berettadin

Great work Ian!! Loved it

I don't know how much this matters, but BYU's Hawaii campus is relatively diverse, religion-wise. I stress "relatively" since you do have to be religious, and as far as I recall it was all Abrahamic religions. (And my biology professor did stress that evolution is "only a theory," in 2012)

YAY
