CO-VIDs: dropsy/alum is live!

Alright, I settled on "call it 'dropsy/alum' for the first week and then change the name to 'adventure games about jesus' for clicks." The True Fans will get the intended experience, and then I'll tip my hat.

Go tell your friends!

CO-VIDs: dropsy/alum is live!

Oh shit, you're doing essays on point and click adventure again! Oldschool! This was delightful and as also No Longer A Christian I feel a lot of this. I am still genuinely and deeply moved by Jesus-like behavior and much of my life is still guided by WWJD but what Alum talks about and offers (based on your review, I have played neither game) does not move me. I left religion (possibly for good) when I realized that while even if we set aside all the complicated problems with how humans engage with Christianity and how they use it, even in it's most idealized form, I simply am not actually interested in the promise it offers. I think it's an interesting perspective that I saw very little of when I was inside the christian bubble, but which leftists and former Christians are often very engaged by. How do you separate the fact that, ideally, direction on how to behave 'like Christ' can often be a great thing, but so much of what surrounds that is questionable at best. Honestly I would probably enjoy both games? It's not like christian metaphors are uncommon in games. Dropsy sounds really unique and charming, though.

What an excellent an interesting video! I also appreciated the shout out to Jesus Christ Superstar. I was also raised Christian, though I no longer practice and am now agnostic. I find Jesus Christ Superstar endlessly fascinating and continually relevant
