I have COVID

I have tested positive for the coronavirus. So far it seems I have a really mild case, and we have good and (largely) affordable healthcare here in Massachusetts, so I am anticipating I will be okay. Provided there isn't a second wave of symptoms headed my way, I seem to already be on the mend. But we've converted my partner's little office room into a quarantine cell and this is my life for the next week and a half.
So, um... probably no video this month, either.

Even worse my girlfriend had it at the same time as I did, and she has some underlying conditions that cause breathing problems. We were both VERY lucky, but I spent a good couple weeks watching her struggle for breath trying to figure out if I was still okay enough to make the decisions I needed or if I was approaching too delirious to be able to operate my phone to call 911. it was HARROWING. even if your symptoms are mild and do not linger, take care of yourself, take the time you need, and be prepared for some lingering psych bullshit. yatta yatta parasocial, but seriously, not just as a creator, as a human being, I want you to take care and get through this. Best of luck, I'm looking forward to catching a new video in January *smile*.

2020-11-17 04:18:48 +0000 UTCAs I seem to be some two weeks ahead of you (tested positive on 3rd Nov), I can only say one thing: take care of yourself! Even if you go through it with mild symptoms (I did), this thing can take a psychological toll. I got it from my parents who, thankfully, seem to be doing OK and now my wife is sick - also a mild case, it appears. Yet, we've seen three people from our bubble actually die (mostly parents and grandparents of close friends). I work from home and couldn't really take time off work. I have a large project due tomorrow and lost a lot of time due to an inability to focus and “brain fog” in the first week after the diagnosis. This all (deaths, sick partner and parents, work pressure, lack of free time + also the completely fucked up political/social life in Poland) added up to result in a mild panic attack last night. I think I’m OK now and I just wanted to say that you should probably take care to load up on positive news, take time off work entirely and try not to brood. Being sick, scared and isolated can fuck you right up. I’m sending you (and everyone going through this hell that is the COVID pandemic) lots of love and support. Stay well.
