I just realized that the name Jon had been past down since young John but John (Costner) didn't name any of their sons John. The Eldest was Lee.

That’s the first of Sheridan’s shows I’ve struggled to get in to. I’ve enjoyed all the others, but this might be the first not for me, although I’ll give it another try. So far I don’t like how they’ve written his daughter (and her she’s viewed by others) in particular.

The horse shoes sparking off the rocks was awesome! Reminds me of fireflies a little. I was recently in Texas and went to the stock yards. Watched a cattle drive then had dinner at the steakhouse. I got a cowboy size glass as a souvenir. Out of every show I have seen Elsa is my favorite character...hands down. Sheridan wrote her so well and Isabella knocked that part out of the ballpark. John is adorable. James is where the passion seems to have started for ranching.

FUN FACT: the WHITE ELEPHANT Saloon is still in Fort Worth! Across the street from BILLY BOBS music saloon!!!! that's why the actor was brought in. i've gone many times. In the Stockyards. Where that cattle pin is. That my grandfather use to drive our cattle to. And that street still is almost identical.

That was an amazing scene between two soldiers at separate ends of the war

🫡exactly Steven! The passion and love for the land, they do such an amazing job making us feel it with their eyes. The expression of wonder on their faces. When that bitch sister talks about how James is the "Dreamer" -- all I see is John Dutton out there still holding on to the dream James began. Beautiful.

You'll notice Taylor Sheridan use many of the same actors across all of this shows: Mayor of Kingston, Lioness, Landman, all the Yellowstone Shows. There's almost always 1 or 2 you'll find.

I think Elsa turned 17 on her birthday. When she and her father were talking about the date, she referenced some historical event 18 years ago, and a year later she was born. She’s at that awkward age of not quite yet a woman, but also not quite feeling like a child. Also, one thing to remember, you referenced the Yellowstone 5x1 episode that just dropped on YT where Jamie references John as being a 5th generation rancher and the family settled in Montana before it was a state. Keep that number in mind further into 1883. Kayce being 6th generation and Tate being 7th. There will be an aha moment! Great reactions Steven & Nikki!

Billy Bob is now the lead in a new taylor sheridan series, "Landman" about the oil business in texas. set in the current day. Also stars Ali Larter, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm. They're only a few episodes in so far, but its been just as good as any of taylor's shows

7 dead children is more than enough to drive a parent insane. Even in those days.

Battle of Antietam was during the Civil War. Tim's character fought for the Confederate's(South) and Tom's character fought for the Union(North).
