I dont know if in the finale of S1 it was simply exposition or not but... One of the Vips asked about the final game because he didn't recognize it. The Old man who was player one, the founder & a VIP tells the name of the game then explains the game & rules. This seemed to indicate that the games aren't always the same or at least not all the same every time. However it is also possible that VIP was a first timer so he just didn't know and I am wrong the games are always the same. Yet I am guessing if a rich POS gets so bored he needs to watch people die for fun, they'd also get bored with the games being the same all the time.
