Ted Lasso Season 1 Episode 6 REACTION!! (full watch along)

Comments

Ted did say very clearly to Rebecca to tell Man City that he has a plan and he's not planning on benching Jamie. So she getting rid of Jamie was clearly against Ted's wishes and she knows it. She only did it after she felt betrayed by Higgins at the team bonding.

I'm here to help! Manchester City (Man City) is also in the Premier League. A big club like Manchester City (one of the best in the world) has A LOT of talented young players. So, they often loan out several of these talented, young players to clubs in the lower leagues, other countries, or in this case, a club that's a smaller club in the same league that they don't see as a threat. So, yes, Jamie can play against Richmond when they play each other. Hope that helps!

Ted says to her: "Tell Man City this man has a plan." He makes it clear to her that he's not planning on keeping Jamie on the bench. And yet at the end of this episode she still is all like " i thought that is what you wanted".

😂 first time reactors really get the Iverson speech from the start! Mezcal reminds me a lot of a fine old scotch. it is made from the heart of the agave plant, called the piña. 90% of Mexican mezcal comes from Oaxaca. In Mexico, mezcal is generally consumed straight and has a strong smoky flavor. Rebecca did participate, yes - but she significantly changed her behavior after realizing that Higgins is "putting the team first" as she said after Dani Rojas returning.

I am in full agreement with everything you said.

Nikki & Steven, I completely understand that you have to make other content with movies and other series for the channel BUT if it would be possible to binge watch Ted Lasso until the end and have no other content, I would be right there with you both!!!! It is so incredibly fun watching the both of you enjoy this series especially knowing what is coming and watching the full emotional gambit you go through just like everyone else that loves this series!!!!! It truly gets better with every episode and character arc until the series finale!!!!

Sam and Dani Rojas are great. We finally made a break through with Jamie only for him to be sent back, that was disappointing.

I've watched enough of soccer in my life and played it a few years - I know it's not the sport for me. I will watch World Cup matches here and there but that's about it.

100% true. I’ve been a football fan since 2001, when I moved to England for 10 years. I watched a game or two and was hooked. I don’t know why people think it’s boring. It’s fluid, for the most part. Very few stops. Lots of action. I love it.

The reveal of who orchestrated Jamie's departure comes later in the season

I’m not sure if I’m Just commenting early, but it was Rebecca who caused jaime to be taken back. Manchester only called wondering if he was still going to be playing. And with him clicking with the team better than ever, that’s a problem with her plan

If you ever start watching the documentary series welcome to wrexham I predict you will become a football fan and you'll understand the game better. By the way, Ted lasso's Richmond team and the other teams that they're talking about are all in the premier League. Just for your information. Peace!

Fun fact Cristo Fernández (Dani Rojas) is an Ex Football Player 🤓 Knee Injury ended his Football career

So many reasons I love this episode. Intro of Dani of course. But also, seeing more of Jamie than the tough exterior he portrays. I've seen so many reactors go from calling him names to being disappointed when he's sent back to Man City. Man City has the same season as Richmond here. Teams loan out up and coming players so they can get minutes while they have a full and good first team already. That's what I've been told anyway.

By the way, Nikki and Steven: when you get to episode 9, make sure you watch all the way through the end credits. It's nothing Earth-shattering, but it's very much worthwhile. Also: regarding loans, Man City is in season since they're an EPL team as well (so, yes, they're a team that Richmond plays in-season), but a lot of times with loans, those will happen with developmental/young players who aren't going to crack the starting 11 anytime soon, but the club who owns the contract still wants them to develop. So, in essence, Jamie is being loaned to Richmond because they need a striker, but it's also so that Man City can get their player some playing time without having to play him themselves. They know he's got the chance to be a star, but they don't have a spot for him in the lineup, so they want him to get on the pitch to hopefully help him become that star before his loan is up.

I have some fridge magnets I got off etsy with "That's too many ghosts!" If they would have had Richard's We cannot fight them all I would have got that too but they didn't at least at the time.

FUTBOL IS LIFE! Love this episode. And I love all of the little throwaway joke lines at the pub ("That's too many ghosts!" "We cannot fight that many ghosts.")
