Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 4 REACTION!! (full watch along)

Comments

Okay, that's your opinion, but I disagree. Also it's a fictional show. It's not that big of a deal. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Remember watching this the first time, I was blown away, smiling the whole episode. Still makes me smile. One of the greatest TV Christmas specials ever.

Blankzy

it actually goes wrong a few times from the perspective of non-Americans, trust me.

This is one of the two "extra added" episodes for season 2. Originally, the season 2 was to consist of 10 episodes, until Apple TV+ expanded it by ordering two more episodes. It does not have much of an impact on the overall plot, just a small bit.Phoebe showing the cards to the boy and writing "Say it's christmas carollers" is a direct homage/parody to the famous "Love, Actually" scene with Keira Knightley ................. The way the little boy oggles the 'sexy' woman is frankly overdone and annoying for me, probably bcs i've seen it in media billions of times, and it wasn't even funny the first time. I thought this show was better than that. Santa Claus being revealed to be real, hence cruelly ignoring kids in countries with different cultures and traditions, also is messed up. Rebecca being the white savior capitalist for the day makes some sense for her as a person, it's better than sitting at home depressed I guess, but american Santa BS being a real thing, ignoring the rest of the players of AFC Richmond and the world at large is such an overdone annoying cliche. Again, I assumed that this show was better than that.

this is one of the episodes i've been DYING for the reaction to because it's just so so lovely. I also love how they're showing the team really coming together and how Ted really helped build that culture! I think the line about Higgins being more popular means that in the past the invite would be open, but no one really took him up on it but now they're a unit and actually a team.

This episode is just so warm and fuzzy. As someone else said, it is now on my must-watch list for Christmas. All of the references, and even the silly storylines, you can't go wrong. Also, Nikki, you are correct that Hannah Waddingham is so good at singing. What's insane is that she has said that for Rebecca she actually held back while she was singing for her. So like, imagine if she hadn't been. Ps. You can find a full video of her rehearsing that song BTS with the buskers in the episode and with Higgins (Jeremy Swift) on bass. You guys should watch it!

Interesting, though I think there's an asterisk on Toheeb Jimoh (Sam Obisnaya actor) for that, because he was actually born in London in 1997. His parents returned to Nigeria when he was a toddler, but then moved back to London when he was 7 years old, so he spent most of his life in the UK.

This was the first of the two bottle episodes of S2. I won't tell you which one is the second, but you'll definitely know it when you see it. When the series was initially renewed for a second season less than a week after S1 premiered in August 2020, it was given a ten episode order. Reaction to the first season was so positive that Apple later asked for another 2 episodes for S2, but the season had already been written and they didn't want to mess with the flow of the story as it was already planned, so the two extra episodes were written as stand-alone episodes that could exist outside the main story of S2. You could watch either of them at any point in the season and it wouldn't really change the overall narrative of the season. You could also skip them entirely, and you wouldn't be lost if you just jumped right to the next episode. That isn't to say that they don't add depth to the characters or the show overall, just that they aren't directly tied to any of the major story arcs of the season. Anyway, it's kind of funny that they decided to do one of the bottle episodes as a Christmas episode, because S2 was released in the summer of 2021. This episode specifically came out on August 13, 2021, which is obviously not remotely close to Christmas on the real world calendar. So people were enjoying this episode for the first time in the middle of summer.

Oh, and this episode is now part of my “must watch Christmas episodes or movie”. It’s perfect.

I like schitt's Creek for a comfort show but I also like Parks and recreation! I think you guys might like it too. Ted lasso is one of the best shows ever on TV. Have a good one!

The scene with the Phoebe and the posters was inspired by the rom-com Love Actually, and definitely worth a watch and react! 🥰. In case y’all didn’t catch it. And Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca) has a Christmas special on Apple TV with cameos from some of the cast and a few celebrity guests, it’s awesome!

So, FYI, there's a stop-motion animated short that went along with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW_qXIHtmTk

Hannah is incredible. And watching interviews with her, she's even more delightful in real life. Absolutely love that woman.

I remember in season one there is a scene with Rebecca and Higgins walking past the team and when Higgins puts his hand up to give them high fives the pretty much ignore him or don’t see or care. Now, they’re all there like one big family. I shows how a little kindness can go a long way and change people, many people. Ripple effect.

Ok, first off Hannah Waddingham is a gorgeous woman and an amazing singer who has a great Christmas Special (also on Apple TV) where she really shows how impressive she is as a performer! This episode is so special and hilarious at the same time!! The first time I saw Roy's reaction to poor Phoebe's breath and he says, "I think you might be dying" I thought I was going to die from laughter!!!!! Every time I watch it I still laugh out loud!!! But I laughed just as much to see Nikki's reaction to Ted's John Holmes reference and Steven not getting it right away!!!!! LOL Classic!!!!!!! By the way, Nikki your reaction when Rebecca read the Santa letter only proves that you are going to cry a few times before the show finale!!!!!!!

LOVING the hair, Nikki! 👩🏻‍🎤🩷💜🩷💜

One of my favorite episodes of the show. Great storytelling, hilarious acting from the team and of course, Rebecca singing again. Also, All of the cities that Higgens mentions when making the toast, are the actual cities where the actors come from.
