Chapter 96 [Vault]

Title - Diana: The Wonder Queen | Chapter 4

[3rd POV] 

Soft hums filled the car of Diana, as she was driving through the small town of North Salem, where the Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters was situated. A school for mutants, and a school Diana was incredibly interested in. Not only was she interested in some of the people there, but also the idea of offering it her protection, and even being it’s main sponsor. After all, all the young children needed someone to watch over them. 

Sitting in her black SUV, Diana was humming along with some music as she drove through North Salem, towards the school which was on the outside of the town/city. 

‘From what the shadows have told me, the team is quite small at the moment, but there is many younger students. The likes of Jean Grey is already an adult here, being 21, alongside Storm, Cyclops, Rogue, and several others. Some of the younger generation has been joining recently, like Jubilee, so who knows what universe this is based around’ Diana thought, knowing that this world was different than movies or the comics, in several ways. 

She just hoped that the Dark Phoenix wouldn’t come out to play, as if it was an issue, it could be a threat to even her, as the Phoenix was a multiversal-level entity, no matter the version.

[Quest Assigned - Stop the Dark Phoenix from being born, stopping any deaths or casualities. Reward - 3 summons]

‘...That answers that question then. Now it’s just a matter of what sort of event has happened that can cause the birth of it. If it’s anything like I imagine, then Xavier has most likely placed blockers on her mind, that will inevitably lead to it’s birth. Breaking those blockers and showing Jean how to control her power, is the first step’ Diana thought, knowing that it was possible. 

She had trained extensively in the art of the mind, entirely because of the likes of Jean Grey, Xavier, Emma Frost, and all the others who could try and get into her mind. Every soldier in her army is also required to go through this training, entirely to make sure that they are not controlled. 

‘All I can do is try my hardest to stop the tragedies that threaten to fall upon them, from happening. The mutants do not deserve 99% of the things that have happened to them, or that will happen to them’ Diana thought, remembering the mutant children she had saved during WW2, they had been under harsh and horrific experimentation by the Nazi party, in hopes of weaponizing them and their powers. She had slaughtered all those involved and used her best healers to help the children. Most of them had been taken from their homes and were Jewish, so they didn’t have anywhere to go back to. 

Thus, Diana had a small population of mutants within her lands. None of them were particularly powerful, but there was roughly 8 Alpha Level mutants that lived in her country. 

After driving for a while longer, Diana turned down a long road, as she got closer and closer to a large gate. Before the car stopped to a halt. 

A voice began to speak over a small intercom “Hello? Can we help you?” A mans voice emanated from the intercom. 

Hearing the voice, Diana smiled “I believe so. I’m here to meet with Charles Xavier? I wish to sponsor your school and the students that go here” She spoke, as the voice over the intercom went silent for a few moments, causing Diana to continue.  

“And you need not worry about me telling others that you are all Mutants, I already know” Diana continued, causing the voice to speak back up. 

“...You may come in, but one wrong move and you will be treated as an intruder. Ah, and what is your name?” 

“Diana Prince, and I’d expect nothing less from a group fo people who wish to protect their students” Diana replied, not minding the threat. As said threat was not even remotely threatening to her, considering the only beings in the school that could be a genuine threat to her, were: Jean Grey, Storm, Wolverine, Rogue, and maybe two or three others. 

Hearing this, the man on the other end sighed as the gate began to creak open slowly. 

“Thank you” Diana said, before driving through. 

Driving along the long road to the school, Diana began to notice kids playing outside, a large grassy areas surrounding them, alongside tree’s and even a small pond off in the distance. The kids turned and looked at her car in surprise, allowing her to see some of them had more than 2 eyes, some were different colors, and some had other noticeable differences. At the sight, Diana just smiled. 

‘Cute’ Diana thought with a warm smile, as she pulled up to the school that was larger than it looked. 

Pulling up to the front of the school, Diana noticed two individuals standing there. A short scruffy looking man, and…an absolute goddess of a woman. 

Long white hair cascading down her back, gorgeous chocolate colored skin, unique white eyes, and a figure that Diana couldn’t help but gaze over. This, was Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe. 

While the man was the one and only Wolverine, also known as James Howlett, or Logan. 

Getting out of her car, she noticed as Logan tensed, probably sensing the danger she posed to them. Afterall, he did have some rather impressive instincts. 

Getting out of the car fully, she looked between the two, before speaking “I’m assuming you two are going to be taking me to Xavier?” 

Ororo who was noticeably staring, shook out of it and nodded “Come with us” Ororo then turned and began to walk to the door, with Logan eyeing Diana as she walked behind them closely. 

“May I know your name?” Diana asked Ororo, who paused slightly before replying. 

“My name is Ororo. And he is Logan. You spoke over the intercom about investing in the school, what form of investments were you speaking of?” Ororo asked, as they walked through the bustling school, many glancing at Diana due to her height, beauty, and the fact that she was walking with two of the teachers. 

“Technology, money, protection” Diana replied. 

“And where does this stuff come from? Cause I ain’t ever heard of you” Logan asked on the side with a side eye. 

“It’s all legal, no need to worry about that. I am simply…in the background, and I prefer to stay that way, for now at least” Diana responded, ignoring the rude tone he was using. Had he said this in such a way back in Themyscira, then he would have most likely been attacked by one of her people, with how deathly protective of her they were. 

Hearing this, Ororo looked more interested, as she had never heard of Diana, nor had any other members of the X-Men. Meaning, she was probably part of some sort of shadow organization, or simply had a figurehead in control of some company that was really under her control. Whatever it was, Ororo was interested in finding it out. 

But for now, they had more important matters. 

“He’s waiting for you inside” Ororo said, causing Diana to glance, sensing a few others in the room, one of which was far more powerful than anyone else she had ever met, like a living sun just standing there. 

Walking to the door, Diana let out a breath as she thought. 

‘Let us hope this goes well’

That’s the end of the chapter!

Next chapter will be her first official meeting with the X-Men, and will have some more stuff going on. As this chapter was basically just an intermission before she really meets them. 

Not sure when the next vault chapter will be. But I do have some ideas for DBZ ones, RWBY ones, Owl House ones, and even a couple of Outerbanks ones.
