Chapter 159 [Vault]

She had died. Not really sure how, why, or when, but she had. Her memories in regards to it seemingly disappearing, probably to help her keep her sanity in what could only be the void. An infinite expanse of darkness as far as the eye can see, a warm, oddly comforting void, but a void nonetheless. 

Looking around the void, the teen frowned deeply, not really excited to live for…who knows how long, within this place. She was sure that she would go insane if she stayed here too long, anyone would realistically speaking. 

Thankfully it didn’t seem like that wasn’t going to be a problem, as a golden glimmer formed in front of her, words appearing in front of her vision. 

[Congratulations, you have died! But, fear not young one, you have been chosen to reincarnate into the world of Marvel comics! Your boon is simple, you will spin the wheel once to decide a “Template” character, aka the character you will become in that universe, then, based off of the character and your own luck, you can have anywhere from 1-10 more characters to roll for, all related to the character you had gotten in the beginning! These characters will give you their powers, and abilities! While the first one will give you absolutely everything from them, even the useless knowledge unlike the other ones, as you will become one with them! You will not receive the knowledge of the others, meaning you must learn to control your new power on your own!]

Reading through this, the teen blinked as a small golden wheel formed in front of her, on top of what was basically a small table. 

“Well…I guess I can’t really complain about this anymore, can I? Hell, I’d be happy for just the first part, but up to 10 more characters and their powers as well? No way I can complain realistically” The teen said, as she walked forwards to the wheel, before gripping it and spun it as hard as she could, no hesitation on her face. 

Watching as it ticked on by, the teen’s eyes shot wide as it slowly ticked to a stop, as she read the name on the wheel. 

“…I don’t know if I should be happy or not” The teen muttered. 

[Jean Grey: The Host of the Phoenix Force | 6 Characters]

“Jean…Jean Grey? I’m going to become Jean Grey!?” The teen exclaimed in shock, knowing that Jean was quite literally one of the strongest characters in Marvel, should she reach her peak of power, aka the White Phoenix of the Crown mode, a “Form” that would make her strong enough to destroy entire multiverses and beyond. 

[Now that you have gotten your new identity, it is time to claim the remaining 6 characters. These will be chosen based on the users new identity. Beginning selection now!]

As she heard this, the teen breathed in as she watched the words warp and change, her eyes widening at the six names that filtered in front of her, six names that were VERY recognizable. 

[Hope Summers (616) - The Mutant Messiah]

[Gabriel Summers (616) - Vulcan]

[Rachel Summers (811) - The Phoenix Child]

[Jonathan Richards (967) - Hyperstorm]

[Nathaniel Grey (295) - X Man]

And the last one, the one that caught her eye more than any other, the one that was included due to getting Jonathan Richard’s, who was the son of Rachel in another universe. One of the most powerful characters in Marvel, one that when combined with her power from Jean would be…insane, was…

[Franklin Richards (616) - The “Strongest” Mutant]

Now these characters were…incredible, sure, but there was one, very very very big problem. 

…She had to learn how to control all of this power she was about to gain. The sort of power that could atomize the universe if she didn’t learn to control it, the sort of power that people would quite literally kill for. The sort of power that she HAD to learn to use, otherwise she’d risk the lives of quite literally everyone in existence. 

As even Franklin had to learn to use and control his powers, and she would have to do that, but times 7, and much much much harder due to the sheer amount of power she was inheriting from these characters. The sort of power that would allow her to fight and defeat cosmic deities, kill Gods, and unravel all of time and space. 

[Due to the…particularly…dangerous implications of your power, we would suggest a seal be placed upon these characters. One that will limit their use to a certain percentage until the user is ready to utilize 100% of their power. Otherwise the user risks the destruction of everything with one wrong move]

“A seal? And that would work?”

[It would. This seal would start out at 1% of the users total power from these 6 characters (not including the users template/the one they are becoming). This will go up every time you reach a higher level of mastery and control, and can be taken off at will should the user need to. It’s simply a defense mechanism so that you don’t accidentally destroy the multiverse. And no one besides you can take this seal off, no matter what they try]

“Hmm…alright do it. If the seal works how they do in fanfics, then this’ll also make my training more profitable and might increase my total power. 1% of my power will still be a ton, especially in the case of Franklin, Nate, Jonathan and Gabriel” The teen muttered, as she decided this seal was for the best. 

She’d rather not accidentally bomb the hell out of creation. 

[As you wish. It will automatically be imprinted upon you the moment you wake up as your new and true self. Would you like to begin the reincarnation process?]

“Before that, I have to ask, what sort of universe am I being put into?”

[Largely based around the MCU in terms of major plot points, but is closer to 616 in terms of power level, and has F4, X-Men, and other teams as well. But the primary events will be based around the MCU until Thanos is defeated, same with the time period. The user will appear as a 17 year old Jean Grey in the year 2008, giving them 2-3 years before things really start to “go down” as they say]

“Huh…okay that’s good then. Means I’ll be safer there if it’s not exactly at 616 in terms of power, just closer. But that also means I’ll probably be running into a whole lot of stronger beings like cosmic entities. Alright, start the reincarnation process!” The teen said, strangely excited to be reborn into this new and incredible world. 

[Beginning reincarnation process, enjoy your new life…Jean Grey]

Reading this, the teen that would now be known forever more as Jean Grey, smiled as she said one last sentence before disappearing from the infinite void. 

“Thank you for everything, whatever you are!”

Jean exclaimed, as she was pulled away from the void, everything began to go dark as she left the void, never to return. The void going dark once more moments later, as if nothing ever happened.

Within a small bedroom, a beautiful teen lay. 

She had a feminine, gorgeous, alluring figure standing at 5’6. With long red hair and what could be described as an hourglass like figure. With a toned stomach sticking out from the blanket that was covering only part of her body, as she wore a comfortable pair of sweats and what looked to be some sort of sports bra to sleep. 

[Last one is what she’s going to look like with the Phoenix Force and her suit]

This was Jean Grey, our recent reincarnator, and the most powerful Mutant in the entire universe, potentially the entire Mutliverse.

Slowly her eyes began to flutter open, revealing soft glowing emerald green eyes. Had she had the Phoenix Force, this would be different, but she didn’t have the Phoenix Force…yet. 

As she let out a low yawn, Jean began to look around, only one thought on her head as she did so. 

‘…Where am I?’

So yeah, Jean is overpowered. As in, probably the first fanfic character I’ve made so far that could likely contend against Wanda from Bookstore witch, at her peak at least she probably could. Current her? No. 

I did the seal thing because…it makes the most sense. Without it, and without control over the power she is about to have, she would make anything Franklin accidentally did, look like a minor incident in comparison. 

She’ll eventually take off the seal, but only once she gains full control, otherwise she has the chance of accidentally obliterating all of existence by accident. 

No idea who the love interest is going to be. I was thinking of doing Emma (totally not because of Marvel Rivals or anything…) but I’m honestly not sure who’d fit Jean. 

Jean isn’t going to be a goody two shoes or anything, so she’ll likely have a more antagonistic relationship with the X-Men in this, mostly because of Xavier and what he would try to do. Hence why I think Emma could be a good love interest, as she could open a school with Emma instead of going to Xavier’s. 

Give me ideas in that regard!
