Chapter 186: The Second Power Stone

[3rd POV]

Floating down to the planet below, Gwen landed with a soft crunch, as she glanced around. She could feel the power exuding passively from the stone, as it flowed through the very planet itself, imbuing it with its “Infinite” power. The sort of power that gods and demons would start wars over, and the sort of power that would be incredibly useful in her hands, especially if she could use it at the same time as the other stone. 

Walking through the desolate purple landscape, Gwen made her way to where she had sensed the stone initially. Now that she was on the planet, it was a lot more difficult to sense much of anything, thanks to the amount of power that was quite literally in the air. 

‘Hmm…maybe it’d be best to absorb this planet after I take the stone. Should be possible through the Force, Alucard's powers, and all my other crap’ Gwen thought, imagining that the absorption of an entire world would massively boost her energies, and maybe even cause some sort of effect on her soul and “Cores”. 

‘That and I don’t like the idea of Thanos or anyone else interested in the stones finding this place, even if they can’t do anything with it, it’d be best if it was gone for good’ Gwen thought.

Walking through the landscape, Gwen glanced around, noticing that the concentration of Power Stone energy was beginning to rapidly increase, as she got closer to what she could only guess was the location of the power stone. 

As she walked into a large randown church looking building, she stopped as she looked forwards, finding a small circular object, glowing a bright purple. 

Walking to it, she reached her hand out, and softly grasped it, gasping as the object cracked cleanly in half, turning to dust as the power stone fell into her hand, and as it did, her eyes widened. The stone glowed a bright purple color, as it began to slowly melt into her skin, as she let out a soft grunt, feeling it surge throughout her body, and move throughout her, until it stopped inside one of her hearts, and unlike the other power stone, it was in her physical, actual heart, not a metaphysical one. 

As her veins and eyes glowed a brilliant purple color, a notification appeared in her vision.

‘Huh…that was different’ Gwen thought with a pleased smile, as she flexed her arm, feeling the Power Stone that was passively strengthening her physical form, rather than her soul itself like the other one was. 

With this “Assimilation” finished, Gwen glanced around, her gaze covering the planet as she searched for anything else of note, only to find nothing. With that done, she teleported off, reappearing above the planet. 

Looking down upon it, she stretched her hand out, and flexed the force within her, pulling on the planet itself, breathing in deeply as it began to get pulled into her, like a black hole. It’s form turning into motes of light as she began to absorb the entire planet, breathing in as she began to feel it’s effects on her. 

Her overall energies began to surge around her, shaking and warping the space around her, as her power began to grow more and more. The world in its entirety was absorbed within an entire minute, as Gwen felt it’s power flow through her, her cores increasing in power and size, as another notification appeared in her vision. 

[Planet Devourer]

Details - Absorb an entire planet and it’s life forces.

Reading this, Gwen smiled, pleased with the rewards, as she decided to convert them all into SSL ticket, and claim them.

The assimilation of these new characters had happened practically instantly, as none of them were particularly all that powerful or unique, although she did appreciate the addition of Charmcaster, who had some rather interesting magical spells in her arsenal, as well as some other knowledge of note. 

With the assimilation finished, the planet absorbed into her being, and the Power stone now with her, Gwen grinned, as she teleported off back home, ready to finish up the last touches on the city, before she would begin to recruit in mass.

”Where were you?” Was the first thing that was asked, as she reappeared in her office, blinking as she found Jean standing there with crossed arms, and narrowed eyes. 

“Oh sorry, I was out gathering another object that I needed for a project of mine” Gwen replied with a small smile, as the teen just pouted. 

“What item?” Jean asked, as Gwen just smirked at her. 

“That’s a secret, little bird~” Gwen teased, as Jean just blushed, her pout deepening at the response, as she was really interested in what Gwen did when she was off on her own. 

“Fine fine, keep your secrets. I was actually here to tell you that the Professor has decided to move the school here, and the students and their parents have decided to join him” Jean said, as Gwen blinked several times. 

“Truly? All of them?” She had expected only around half of them or so to agree with the idea, but to hear that all of them were ready to move to Malzif was…amazing to her, and a huge relief to her. 

”Mmhmm, the fact that you beat the snot out of an alien invader, the technology, not to mention the high pay, all added up to be quite a convincing reason for them to move here. What should I tell the Professor?” Jean asked, as Gwen leaned back in her chair, a smile on her face, excited. 

“Great! I’ll prepare the finishing touches on the city. So, tell him to have all the parents, their families, and their property ready within a week, as I’ll have my clones go down to Earth and transport them all here” Gwen replied with a smile, as Jean nodded, excited to finally move to Malzif, and start her next step of life, one that would include the prosperity of not just herself, but all of mutantkind. 

“Good! I’ll make sure to go and let the professor know, bye!” Jean said excitedly, as she ran off, ready to go and tell the professor of the plan. 

Watching Jean runoff, Gwen leaned back in her chair, conjuring some tea in her hands as she silently sipped on it, contemplating the future. 

‘The Eye of Harmony should finally be possible to create, now that I’ve got the second power stone. If not, I’m sure I can create something of similar power with a bit of time. But that’ll have to wait until after the parents all move in, as I’ve got enough on my plate already’ Gwen thought, knowing that she now had all the materials needed, and the necessary power to make the Eye of Harmony, it was now just a matter of finding the time to do it, and creating a proper place to put it where it would be protected, and would distribute its immense, practically infinite power to the entire planet, not just the single city. 

Looking outside her window at her city, Gwen smiled softly, as she had one thought on her mind.

’…It’s finally all coming together’

Sorry about the super late chapter, I was just relaxing the entire day and sort of lost track of time. That and I was busy doing some shopping. I’ll be doing some in person shopping tomorrow, so the chapters will likely be late for tomorrow as well.
