Turns out the movies in this universe were fairly similar to the ones from her own world, with a severe lack of good drama movies. And comic movies were nonexistent for the most part, besides ones involving Superman for some reason. They sure loved the man with the amount of movies they made about his “Origin Story”.

Nobody knew his actual origins, so they were almost entirely incorrect funnily enough.

Kendra spent the rest of her first day sipping on coffee and watching movies, laying on her couch in nothing more than an oversized sweater and sweats. The same clothes she would be wearing to her new job, mostly because she was hoping to get fired so she could leave and live in peace.

Making money wasn’t going to be difficult or anything, not when she’s quite literally a God through Thor. And is partially a God from Wonder Woman. Honestly she wished she got Shazam or Black Adam instead as they would have been more useful to her, but she wasn’t going to complain now.

Who knows, maybe she can get their powers in the future somehow.

But finally, after the day had passed, it was the next morning. A large thing of coffee in her hands as she walked through the streets of National City, moving towards CatCo. The large building soon became clear in her vision, as she let out a grunt of annoyance.

She didn’t really want to be here, but she didn’t have much of a choice, as she walked closer to the large skyscraper, and soon entered through it’s front door.

Around her neck was her pass inside, as the security glanced at her and gave her a nod, causing her to give them a nod in return and walk to the elevator, entering as the elevator soon closed, shutting as she ignored the other people in the elevator with her, as she sipped on her coffee.

They were all looking at her befuddled, as she was…out of place to say the least. Most people dressed up in work attire, and yet here she was, in a sweater and oversized sweats, sipping on coffee and looking like she wanted to be anywhere but there.

And that was exactly what she was feeling.

‘…Hmm, wonder if I could get them to fire me? Shouldn’t be too difficult if I try hard enough, as long as I do it within reason it won’t cause problems for future jobs too’ Kendra thought, a plan forming in her mind.

However, before she could continue her thoughts, time seemed to slow to a crawl as she blinked.

[Please don’t do that]

‘So you are still watching me? Thought so. So, why shouldn’t I just quit or get myself fired?’ Kendra asked inwardly to what she dubbed as the “Reincarnation System”.

[…What do you want]

‘The powers of Shazam and Black Adam from the DCEU. In return I’ll work here for…hmm, let's say a year. And if I like it enough, I’ll stay’ Kendra offered, fighting back a cackle as she was basically robbing a higher entity that seemingly wanted to use her for entertainment or something of the sort.

[…Deal. Break the promise, and you will lose these powers. And as long as you keep this promise, you will never see words from me again. Goodbye Kendra]

The words disappeared a moment later, and Kendra couldn’t help but grin as she knew that the system thing was very very irritated with her at the moment, but that didn’t matter as she felt the new power settle within her.

She knew that unlike her other powers, these were activated by using the word “Shazam” and would likely stop her from using some of her other abilities. The main one being the powers from All Might, Hawks, and Sebastian Shaw.

She sure as hell wasn’t about to complain though, as the elevator dinged, and she returned her attention to what was happening in front of her.

Walking through the elevator door, Kendra turned a corner to a front desk and walked up to it.

“Hello, I’m Kendra Saunders, I’m the new editor” Kendra said, as the woman at the desk looked up at her in surprise, before glancing over a few papers and finding the one she was looking for.

“Ah, Miss Saunders! Follow me, I’ll take you to your new desk that you’ll be working out of. Your first assignment should be there already” The woman said, as she got up and motioned for Kendra to follow.

Walking through the halls of CatCo, Kendra let out a sigh as she was led to the main area of the building, the same area where Winn worked, where Kara worked, and where Cat had her office only a little far away from her.

Her desk was only two down from Winn’s from what she could tell. And after glancing at the man, she moved past him. The man looked at her in surprise, as like everyone else, he was shocked to see her walk in in such a casual set of clothing.

‘She’s not going to last long’ Winn thought with a cringe, knowing how Cat got when it came to clothes like that.

“Well, here you are! I hope you enjoy your time here” The woman said with an awkward smile before scurrying off, leaving Kendra to sit at her desk leaning back into the chair.

‘Huh…not bad actually’ Kendra thought, pleasantly surprised with the chair. It wasn’t the best she had ever sat in, as she owned a Herman Miller in her past life, and that was easily the best, but it was still pretty good.

Glancing at the assignment in front of her, she flipped through the pages, her eyebrows raising as she understood that they wanted her to edit an article on the newly named “Supergirl”.

‘Seems the report I had seen on the news was actually a little old. Not that it changes much, just means she’ll be fighting that one alien dude I don’t remember the name of soon’ Kendra thought, as she turned on her computer, finding that it was already prepared for her.

Signing in, she began to get to work, knowing exactly how to improve the article after just looking over it once.

There was a reason why people went to her for editing articles, videos, and things like that. She was very very skilled at it, and she got paid a lot because of that. And even for a world like this one, she was very skilled at her job.

While working, Kendra didn’t notice as Cat Grant sat in her office, looking at her with furrowed eyebrows as a tall woman stood awkwardly across from her.

“Who the hell is that, and why is she dressed like a slob?” Cat asked, looking at Kendra.

“Um-I’m not sure? But I think she’s the new editor you just hired, Miss Grant” The woman responded. This woman was Kara Danvers, aka Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. A beautiful woman that stood at around 5’10, and while her clothes didn’t show it, she was quite muscular underneath all of her clothes.

Basically, she towered over most other women she met, and that was especially the case with Kendra, who was tiny in comparison. Her Kryptonian genes shone through in this case.

“You mean the actual good one? Of course the first proper editor I get in ages dresses like a slob” Cat said with a scowl on her face.

“Bring her in here, Keerah” Cat ordered, getting Kara’s name wrong, as usual.

Nodding, Kara walked off to Kendra’s desk, as the woman worked on the article. It was a rather simple project really, not at all hard or long. Nothing in comparison to what she had worked on before.

“Hi, Miss Grant would like to speak with you” Kara said, as Kendra glanced up at her, raising an eyebrow as she looked at Kara for the first time.

‘Huh…she’s hot’ Kendra thought, not afraid to admit that Kara was very attractive. She found the actor that played her to be hot in her past life too, so it wasn’t a surprise that the actual character in real life was even better looking.

‘…She’s also tall, damn’ Kendra added, as she got to her feet and realized she had to look up at Kara because of how tall she was. The show really didn’t give her height justice. Nor did it properly show off her muscles.

‘Curse my attraction to toned women’ Kendra groaned, already realizing that she had been checking Kara out within a few moments of meeting her.

Something Kara had also noticed, as she looked a little embarrassed at the look, but also blushed slightly, as no one had ever openly checked her out like that before.

Following Kara to Cat’s office, she walked in and was immediately met by a frowning woman.

“Do you know why I called you in here, Miss…whatever your name is?”

“Well, considering I’m probably the best editor you have here, I’ve only just started working here, and you don’t even remember my name. I can only assume that it’s because of my clothes, right?” Kendra guessed, as Cat raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, yes that is exactly why you’re here. No worker of mine will be dressed like a hobo, I’ll let you off this time because it’s your first day, but tomorrow I expect you to be dressed properly, understood?” Cat said, as Kendra nodded.

“Understood” Kendra responded, not really wanting to wear something so…uppity. But she also didn’t want to lose her new power, so she was just going to have to listen to the woman in front of her.

“Good, now back to work” Cat said, waving her off as she was done.

Walking back to her desk, Kendra flopped down onto her chair, while Kara was staring at her. She wondered why, but she assumed it was because of the way she had talked to Cat, as if she wasn’t talking to the most powerful woman in National City.

Leaning back into her chair, she began to get back to work, one thought on her mind.

‘…This is easy’

The love interest is Kara. And this’ll be my first MC that is truly short (like 5’1 to 5’2 short) and is still dominant over Kara, who towers over her, has more muscle than her, and looks like she’d be the “One in charge”.

Kara is the only love interest for this fic most likely. If I do add anyone, it would be Lena (cause she is hot…duh).

Kendra won’t be gaining any more powers. I just added Shazam and Black Adam because I thought they’d fit, and…I totally forgot that she didn’t get their powers, and she sorta needs them for an idea I have for a future plot line.
