ARCADIA Q&A This Friday for Patrons Only

Hey Everyone,

It's James Introcaso here to let you know that on this Friday, February 4th at 11:30AM Pacific we will be having a Q&A with the authors of ARCADIA 12. I'll be chatting with Jonathan Connor Self, Jessica Marcrum, and Carlos Cisco!

If you've watched previous ARCADIA Q&As, you'll notice that our format and questions will be changing a bit.

First, the livestream will be for Patrons only. We'll send out a link via a Patreon update before it begins. If you're not a Patron, have no fear. Each author's interview is going to be cut out and posted individually to YouTube, so you can watch as you please in more bite-sized chunks. We're doing this to make the videos more accessible and an easier watch, particularly for folks who haven't read ARCADIA. At the same time, we want to reward our Patrons, so only Patrons will be able to ask questions during the interview.

As far as the content goes, the interviews will consist of deeper dives into the articles, breaking things down and really giving a thorough overview of the content. We will be headed into spoiler territory for adventures and encounters, so if you plan on playing ARCADIA content as a player you may want to wait until after you've done so to watch a particular interview. After we cover the content of the articles, we'll tackle your questions and have the authors tell us a bit about themselves.

That's it! In order to help us with the new format, we'd love to gather as many questions as we can for the authors BEFORE the stream. If you have any burning questions for Connor, Jess, or Carlos, ask away in the replies! Really looking forward to Friday!

—James

For Jessica: Were other monsters discussed as candidates for the uncursing article?

For Carlos Cisco: how did/do you think about the logic of mechanics and so forth in dream encounters? What design tips do you have for DMs to design encounters to feel properly dreamlike? Also, extra noodley DM question, any tips for balancing the time in the Glass Ghost dream warriors fight between those fighting and the unmarked PCs not in the fight, so they don't feel left out? Combat can take awhile and I don't want folks left out to miss an hour or two of gameplay.

I second asking about getting old school folks onboard.

Nick Rowland

Did "So Your Best Friend Is a Monster" have any connection to Ye Olde Colville http://squaremans.com/DNDBlog/albion.htm ? I vividly recall a Medusa Oracle that Matt's character was not willing to give up on.

Vasiliy Sharapov

Actually I’d also like to hear how James hired Robert. Love those insider stories!

Montage

I also would love to hear James talk about the process of hiring Robert. (Unless the story really is as simple as "we asked him if he wanted to do something and he said yes.")

Onslaught Six

For Jessica: what sources beyond D&D did you draw on for the lore of these cursed creatures?

A Fox

I actually have a question for James/Matt: what are the (rough) odds of more articles for older editions? Are there any editions off the table or a particular priority for this? Pity Robert won't be joining, i've a million questions for him but it would be tough to make them relate to Arcadia. :P

A Fox

For Jessica Marcrum: Have you as a player, or DM, cured a monster/creature of a curse? Which monster? How was it cured?

Ormus Erebus

For Jonathan Connor Self: what inspired you to think about Fey from the Shadowfell? Is it unique to the Feywild/Shadowfell that there are Fey to your mind or would all the planes have Fey, including the outer planes? The elemental planes? Talk to us about your understanding and use of the Fey in your greater D&D cosmology.
