Title - Clary Fairchild: The Spirit of Vengeance

I’ve died. One moment I was relaxing in my bedroom, sipping on some coffee while watching Shadowhunters - a guilty pleasure - and the next I was here, in this neverending void of absolutely…nothing.

Was this hell? Probably a form of it, a neverending area of complete darkness is definitely someone’s version of hell. But it wasn’t mine, hell, this was…comforting, weirdly enough.

I more than likely died from something that was instant, like a gunshot, a plane crashing into my apartment, or something else. Because otherwise? I’ve got no clue how the hell I actually died.

I wasn’t unhealthy, having regularly worked out. I didn’t have anyone who would hate me, as the only girlfriend I ever had…well, that’s not important.

Basically, I’ve got no reason to be dead, only an outside influence being the possible reason.

Is this one of those fanfic situations? I mean, I’ve read enough fan fiction to know what type of situation this looks like. If it is, where’s the ROB, or the system, or…

Seeing the glowing words that had appeared in her vision, the girl looked down the list of worlds she was allowed to choose from.

‘Not the worst worlds to choose from…none of them are really ones I would choose though’ The woman thought with a sigh of disappointment. She had watched each of the shows/movies around each of the worlds that she could choose from, and none of them were really all that safe.

‘I guess I’ll go with this one. It’s the most viable option right now, and probably the safest as long as I stay away from New York and their bullshit’ The woman thought, pressing on Shadowhunters.

“Female” The woman said without hesitation, as there was no way in hell she was becoming a dude. She enjoyed her body, thank you very much.

The woman couldn’t even continue her thought process, as everything went dark.

[3rd POV] [Location: ??????????]

Within a large, rather nice bedroom. A woman lay.

She was decently tall, standing at 5’8. She had long, blonde hair, a rather toned, yet beautiful figure, with C cup breasts.

This was Clary Fairchild, daughter of Valentine Morgenstern and Jocelyn Fairchild. Well…mostly.

Slowly, Clary’s eyes began to flutter open slowly, revealing her powerful emerald green eyes. Her eyes glowed ever so softly before stopping, as she began to sit up, a low groan escaping her lips.

‘That fu-Alright, deep breaths…Clary, this is fine, totally fine’ Clary inwardly thought, enraged at first, before calming herself.

The memories…her memories, had flooded in while she was unconscious, which meant absolutely no pain whatsoever, thankfully.

The memories told her exactly what she needed to know. It was roughly a couple of weeks before Season 1 of Shadowhunters. Probably the perfect time to appear, but not the best.

Looking into the mirror, she blinked in surprise ‘I’m…blonde? When did that happen?’ Clary thought in confusion.

While yes, she did get her memories…transmigrate? Whatever it was, she remembered distinctly that she had red hair before this. ‘Maybe it’s because of whatever powers I was given? I don’t know what type of po-’ Clary was cut off as her face almost…flashed in the mirror, into something…different.

Stepping back, Clary’s eyes widened ‘That-that was…oh crap…don’t tell me the powers I was given was…Ghost Riders?’

[That would be correct, user. The powers given to you, are that of the Spirit of Vengeance, the Ghost Rider. To be more specific, a combination of the movie version and the one from Agents of Shield]

‘...Well shit’ Clary thought with a groan, realizing that this was…not what she was hoping for. Sure, it was quite a bit of power, but it also would make it so she sort of had to hunt down sinners. Not really the worst thing, just annoying.

‘So what exactly can you do, system? Like what sort of system are you?’ Clary inwardly asked, wondering what the usage of the system even was.

[The system has a variety of uses, below are said uses.

Sin Points: By hunting down, killing, and destroying sinners, evil beings, villains, etc, the user gains sin points. These sin points can then be used to gain a variety of things, ranging from powers, strengthening existing power, getting new species (only ones related to angelic or demonic things), getting certain items/objects, etc. On average, a human sinner would be worth anywhere from 100 to 2,000 points. While a normal demon would be anywhere from 2,500 to 10,000. A greater demon of Shadowhunters would be worth roughly 100,000 points to 500,000.

Status - a status that keeps track of the user's “level” in their different powers, abilities, etc. As well as the user's species, etc.

Level - The user's different abilities, powers, etc, have “Levels” the higher the level, the more powerful the power is at base, with each level improving the power in just about every way. Others do not have levels, only the user does. The powers can also be improved via training of course, but it will not improve the level, as the level increases quite literally every aspect of said power. To put it into perspective, a singular level can double the overall capabilities of a skill, allowing the user to gain a massive amount of power. New and Unique sub-powers of these powers can be found by leveling them as well. This doesn’t work on all powers, such as super strength, immunity-based powers (like fear immunity, which you have)

Missions - Special missions that the system creates, the missions give a variety of rewards, but primarily sin points.

Shop - A shop with a variety of items, objects, species, etc. Some go on sale every once in a while, so make sure to pay attention! All objects are bound to the user, and cannot be used by others or be stolen. You also cannot be cloned or anything like that.

Multiverse Travel - After hunting a certain amount of sinners, the user is able to travel to another universe. They can then travel to and from previous worlds whenever they wish, and can bring others with them. While gone, only a maximum of one year can pass]

Currently, the user has the following powers.

[Hellfire Manipulation | Level 1 | 2,500 Points to Level] - Ghost Rider possesses the ability to generate, control, and project mystical fire, or "hellfire" at will. Hellfire is a supernatural flame that burns the soul of a person and can be used to burn their physical body. This can be used in a variety of ways, from projecting it from the mouth, eyes, and hands, channeling it through guns, forming walls of it, and even transforming vehicles with it, in order to improve them drastically. This also grants the user immunity to basically all forms of fire, as when transformed the user is basically covered in it. The user can create fireballs, walls, rings of fire, exude it in an omnidirectional area around them, etc. It is up to the user to train this power to be able to do this. The higher the level of this skill, the more powerful it is, the more it can be controlled, the hotter the fire, the less draining it is, etc.

[Flash Step | Level 1 | 5,000 Points to Level] - Ghost rider possess the ability to basically teleport by foot by short distances. The higher the level, the farther the user can teleport with this, the faster the teleportation it is, the less draining it is, etc.

[Penance Stare | Level 1 | 50,000 Points to Level] - The ability to make anyone who stares into the Ghost Riders eyes feel and see every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lives. This also has the effect of torturing the very soul, basically purging the soul from the body, making their physical body deteriorate into ash. The higher the level, the faster this goes, the more the pain is multiplied, and more]

[Fire Absorption | Level 1 | 10,000 Points to Level] - The ability to absorb any form of fire, even ones that aren’t hellfire. This was a power not well shown within the shows/movie. The higher the level, the quicker the absorption, the more absorbed, and more.

[Dimensional Travel | Level 1 | 25,000 Points to Level] - By swinging a hellfire chain (which the user can create) similar to a sling ring, the user can travel to other dimensions, through a vortex-like gate that is created. Currently this can be used to travel to the hell of Shadowhunters, Seelies dimension, and that is it. The higher the level, the faster this happens, the more places that can be traveled, the less draining, etc.

[Angelic Runes | Level 1 | 5,000 Points to Level] - Runes are symbols that grant beings various supernatural abilities. For Shadowhunters, runes are a complex runic language given to them by the Angel Raziel, which grants them powers beyond those of mundanes. Runes are burned into Shadowhunters' skin using steles, and are their most common tool in their fight against demons. The higher the level, the more potent the angelic runes, the more uses, and more. Due to the runes being connected to the system itself, the user does not need a stele to use them and simply needs to create the runes with their finger.

[Painting | Level 1 | 25,000 Points to Level] - The user has the shared ability to press physical objects into paper, transforming them into drawings or paintings, and is the only one (besides Jocelyn) that are able to "reach into" the pictures to extract the true hidden object.

The user currently does not know any runes, once they do, the angelic runes skill may be leveled.

‘Well that is…sick looking’ Clary admitted inwardly, gazing at the picture of the motorcycle she was given by the system.

‘System, go ahead and level angelic runes’

[Angelic Runes | Level 2 | 10,000 Points to Level]: Changes - All runes are more potent, defensive runes block more damage, runes that attack do more damage, runes for stealth hide the user better, etc. Runes are also not painful to inscribe on the user, anymore.

[SP Remaining - 95,000]

‘Again’ Clary inwrardly thought. She knew that runes had a fuck ton of potential, and it would be a waste to upgrade most of her other powers, as they were already incredibly strong. Just her physical strength alone would be enough to obliterate most foes.

[Angelic Runes | Level 3 | 20,000 Points to Level]: Changes - All runes are more potent, defensive runes block more damage, runes that attack do more damage, runes for stealth hide the user better, etc. The user’s comprehension speed of runes is also dramatically heightened. The user’s runes also can no longer be forcefully taken off of the user.

‘Hmm, not bad. Now I don’t have to worry about the Clave or anything like that. Go ahead and upgrade…flash step’ Clary thought.

[Flash Step | Level 2 | 10,000 Points to Level]: Changes - The user can now teleport double the range, now drains less energy, and can now flash step two times in a row in quick succession, without the second “step” being draining at all.

[SP Remaining - 80,000]

‘Fuck it. Go ahead and use whatever you can on Angelic runes’ Clary thought, entirely riding on the idea that the runes would be OP in combination with her Ghost Rider powers. If the skill was leveled twice, that means her angelic runes would be roughly 4-5x stronger than a normal Shadowhunter.

[Angelic Runes | Level 4 | 40,000 Points to Level]: Changes - All runes are more potent, defensive runes block more damage, runes that attack do more damage, runes for stealth hide the user better, etc. The user can now read runes as if it was reading english. The users runes are now invisible to everyone, even other Shadowhunters, unless the user wishes otherwise.

[SP Remaining - 60,000]

[Angelic Runes | Level 5 | 60,000 Points to Level]: Changes - All runes are more potent, defensive runes block more damage, runes that attack do more damage, runes for stealth hide the user better, etc. The user can now stack multiple of the same rune on their body, allowing the effects to stack on top of eachother. Can now strip the runes off of others, as long as the user gets physical contact with them, and uses the right motion with their finger.

[SP Remaining - 20,000]

‘That…that is really good’ Clary thought, the invisibility thing would be perfect for dealing with her mom…who she didn’t really like anymore. Not after seeing the memories she had, after knowing what she did. To say she was no fond of her, would be an understatement.

‘What sort of items are in the shop?’ Clary asked, sitting on her bed in silence. It was farely early in the morning, so she was sure her mom would come around anytime.

‘...how long does the sale last?’ Clary asked, gazing at the Archangel species and Hanma bloodline.

[1 month. The items remain the same for the entire month]

‘Welp…looks like I know what I’m saving up for’ Clary thought with a small grin. Archangel combined with her runes, and her being Ghost Rider, would improve the power drastically. Hanma would mostly be for the demon back, talent/potential, and martial arts.

Clary was taken out of her thoughts as she heard a voice “Clary? Breakfast is ready!”

Hearing the sound of her mothers voice, Clary let out a sigh and got to her feet.

‘I’ve got blonde hair now…this is going to be fun to explain’

That’s the end of the chapter.

I had this idea for a while, so I thought “why not?”. The system is entirely based around her ghost rider powers, as she pretty much has to use her penance stare to truly get the most out of it. It would also focus primarily on developing her ghost rider/angelic/shadowhunter sides.

Spider-Gwen will be getting an update in a little bit, so look out for that.
