Chapter 41 [Vault]

An entire day had passed since setting up the masquerade, and a bit had happened. For one, Bonnie ended up doing what she did in canon. As she wanted the Masquerade ball to happen the same as it did in canon so that certain things would still happen.

The only difference being, is that she had warned Stefan of the vervain in the well where the moonstone was at. This was just so the guy didn’t go through unnecessary pain, as she doubted vervain burns felt very good for a vampire.

Besides that, she had spent the rest of the day reading through her various grimoires and memorizing the spells inside. This was quite easy thanks to her various characters, and already having a rather strong occlumency that further boosted her memorization skills.

She didn’t do any of the dungeons yet, as she decided to do them once she got the next universe she’d spin from. As she had a feeling she’d get another UCT soon.

During that time, she ended up beginning to train her fairy side more thoroughly. Primarily her mind magic and the dragon flame. The dragon flame was easily harder to train and control and was seemingly even stronger than normal, which Bonnie expected it was due to the influence of her own power.

She ended up getting trained enough in its use, that she could project small fireballs, and streams of fire, and even use it to make her fire spells stronger than before. Increasing her overall fire spell firepower by over double the amount as before. She expected this to continue to increase in the future, as the dragon flame grew.

She also began to train her power from Beatrix as well. The lightning and wind-based fairy’s powers were quite useful, and definitely had a lot of use for the future. She focused primarily on the electricity/lightning aspect of it in the beginning, as it was more useful to her at the moment.

Currently Bonnie was making her way to the Salvatore home, having gotten a text from Stefan to make her way over. If Bonnie was thinking right, then this would be the Masquerade ball trap preparation.

Getting out of her car, she walked to the front door and knocked. The door was almost instantly answered by Caroline. “Come on in” Caroline said, causing Bonnie to walk through the door, to where Stefan was standing.

“Hey, where’s the grimoire?” Stefan asked, noticing the lack of Emily’s grimoire in Bonnie’s hands. He had mentioned in his text that he wanted her to bring it, seemingly to use it to trap Katherine like in canon.

“I left it at home. I’ve already memorized all the spells inside” Bonnie answered, glancing at Damon and Alaric who were looking through a pack of what looked like a bunch of weapons meant to be used to kill vampires.

“Ah, you want me to help capture Katherine, and then let you kill her, don’t you?” Bonnie asked, looking to Stefan who went silent for a few moments, before nodding.

“Hmm, I should be able to do it easy enough. A simple boundary spell should do the trick” Bonnie added, nodding.

“Wait really? You’re going to help us?” Caroline asked surprised.

“Well yeah, Care. She hurt you, so she deserves it” Bonnie said with a small smile, looking to Caroline who smiled at the response.

“Now, this works with compressed air. The trigger mechanism’s here. I’ve got two of these in different sizes” Alaric began, showing off some of his stake crossbows. Bonnie walked closer and listened to the man as he spoke.

“Now, for you, I recommend this” Alaric said, looking to Stefan, before continuing “Fits nicely under a jacket sleeve. Here’s the trigger. And when you’re ready…” Alaric stopped and pressed on the trigger, causing a stake to shoot out, which he grabbed and made a stabbing motion with.

Alaric, noticing the looks he was getting from the vampires in the room, spoke “You wanted me to show you how to kill a vampire”

“Not a bad idea to use those. But what’s to say she doesn’t have a backup plan?” Bonnie asked, causing the group to look to her.

“What do you mean?” Stefan asked.

“Well, Katherine is old, older than both of you, right? What’s to say she doesn’t call in some favors? Afterall, she wants to break the curse right? Who would you call to break a curse?” Bonnie said, looking to Stefan, the vampires eyes widened in realization.

“A witch” Damon said almost audibly groaning in realization.

“Now, I can deal with a witch easy enough. But what could cause a problem, and what Katherine is probably going to do, is a linking spell between her and Elena” Bonnie said, looking back to Stefan.

“So that we can’t harm her, unless we want to harm Elena” Stefan sighed out, as Bonnie’s idea sounded more and more plausible.

“Yep, that sounds like Katherine” Damon said with a sigh.

“So how do we stop the linking from happening?” Alaric asked, looking to Bonnie, just as the entire team was.

“Simple. We give Katherine the moonstone” Bonnie responded.

“That is entirely against what we want to accomplish” Damon said with a roll of his eyes.

“True. But the witch is in town, and I can feel her. I’m also pretty sure we’re related in some way, cousins or something. The witch also wouldn’t have worked with Katherine out of free will, so Katherine probably saved her at some point, or something like that. And after the witch returns the moonstone, she’ll no longer be indebted to Katherine” Bonnie began, causing Stefan to connect the dots slowly.

“Which means she will be free to undo the linking spell connecting Elena and Katherine…which will also mean we can kill Katherine” Stefan said, causing Damon to blink and begin to realize what Bonnie was playing at.

“You want us to make Katherine believe she won, that way you can safely get Elena away, and get the moonstone back for us…giving us a clear shot to kill Katherine” Damon said with a small laugh.

“Genius, you’re a genius Bonnie” Stefan said with a smile, as Bonnie more than likely just saved them from a lot of issues, and Elena from being seriously harmed.

“Well, I try” Bonnie replied with a small smirk.

“So, what exactly is the entire plan?” Jeremy asked.

Hearing this, the entire team looked to Bonnie, who smiled.

“It’ll go like this”

I think what Ima do is get these vault fics to 5 chapters instead of 10, because quite frankly…updating some of these vault fics is hard. Especially when they’re older, and I haven’t watched the show in a while (like TVD, I remember Originals and Legacies FAR more). So, this fic will probably remain at 5 chapters for a while, while I go and start updating another vault fic.

Should I do a poll to decide which one I should do next? If so, which ones would y’all like to see in the poll?

I also might be uploading a “The 100” fic, so should I make that one first, and then do the poll? Love interest for it would probably be Octavia. I also wanna eventually make one with the mc being Lexa and her pairing being Clarke (obviously lol).

Sorry to those that wanted to see more of this fic. You eventually will, but not for a while, as this fic is…pretty hard to write for, due to me not liking TVD nearly as much as Originals and Legacies (in terms of writing fanfics on, not in terms of actual story and plot, as TVD is definitely better than Legacies, while worse than the Originals)
