Title - The 100: The Hidden King | Chapter 5

Gazing at the two women, one of which was the commander of the very Coalition that runs this area, Eivor smiled “You two alright?” She asked in English.

“U-uh yeah, thank you” Clarke said, surprised at the usage of English. As far as she knew, not many people knew English, with only the warriors knowing it, and even then, it was rather limited.

“Who are you?” Lexa asked, eyes narrowed at the unfamiliar tall woman, carrying a blade.

Glancing at Lexa, Eivor smiled “Eivor Varinsdottir”

“And what are you doing in this region, Eivor?” Lexa asked, tense. Her hand was right next to her blade, ready to strike at a moments notice, if need be.

“Traveling. I’ve heard stories and rumors about this region, and it’s leader. Just as I’ve heard about the Coalition. I wished to see it in person, perhaps even trade a bit” Eivor replied with a calm smile, not even remotely threatened by Lexa.

The girl was skilled, sure, but not even remotely on the level of Eivor, or even as skilled as most of Eivor’s soldiers. Her soldiers were trained better, more skilled, and most of them had far more experience.

Clarke glanced at Lexa at Eivor’s words, knowing that Lexa was the very same person Eivor was talking about.

“And what is it you wish to trade?” Lexa asked, looking at the mysterious woman with slight interest.

Eivor smiled “A number of things. Information, maps, books, different seeds”

“Books?” Clarke asked, confused.

“Those who live in this territory speak Trig, correct?” Eivor asked, causing Clarke to nod. Trig being short for “Trigedasleng” the language most grounders within the coalition’s lands speak.

“Well I’ve got books that will allow them to learn how to read, speak, and write English” Eivor said with a smile.

This was the truth, as it was something that she had her more skilled members write up. It took quite some time, and a lot of writing, but after the months of writing and working on it, they had managed to create a toal of 10 of the books, all ready to be traded/sold. They also made a single book for each village in her Kingdom, which the local soldiers would help teach.

Lexa’s eyes widened at this “Your village knows all of this as well?”

“Mmhmm, I made sure that they were taught it. All of my people have been taught, or are in the process of learning English. I have extra books, hence why I am here in the first place” Eivor replied truthfully.

“And what would you want in return?” Lexa asked as they moved out of the small Zoo.

“Matters entirely on who I am trading with, and what they have to offer. But new seeds not native to my village's land would be nice” Eivor replied, causing Lexa to go silent.

“How’d you learn English?” Clarke asked, looking surprised at this. The entire Ark knew English, but that was rare on the ground.

“It’s been passed down within my family for quite some time and has always been taught. Once I became the leader of my Village, I taught the rest, who taught their family, and so on so forth” Eivor responded, as they walked through the forest.

“You taught your entire village English? That is…impressive” Lexa commented, as they continued to walk.

“I suppose so. But it’s not nearly as impressive as being the Leader of the Coalition, is it?” Eivor asked, looking at Lexa with a smile.

“How did you-” “You speaking fluent English. Your markings. Your gear. An assortment of things really. Plus she tensed when I spoke of the Commander” Eivor said, looking at Clarke with a chuckle.

“...I see” Lexa muttered.

“And I’m assuming you are one of the Sky People, correct? I’ve heard stories of them as well, and considering your obvious lack of experience with your surroundings, it’s rather obvious you aren’t from here” Eivor asked, glancing at Clarke who nodded hesitantly.

“Good! Your people were the others I was most excited to trade with” Eivor said with a grin, knowing that the Sky people were easily the most important people to begin trading with.

“Really? Why?” Clarke asked, looking at Eivor in surprise.

“Technology and knowledge. Your people have far more of both than anyone else on the planet, besides perhaps those people within Mount Weather” Eivore responded.

“You know of the Mountain Men?”

“Hard not to, when it is talked about quite a bit by the people of these lands” Eivor responded, as it was true.

“What sort of knowledge would you need from us? From the way it sounds, you’re village is more well off than we are” Clarke asked, as they came to a stop.

Eivor raised an eyebrow at this “Your knowledge in Engineering, healing, weaponry, language, and a host of other things”

“We can stop here and make camp for the night. It’s going to become dark soon” Lexa said, cutting off their conversation.

“And your willing to let me stay? You barely know me” Eivor asked, surprised.

“You wish to begin trade with my people, and what you wish to trade with us, is rather…important. And I do not trust you, if you try anything I will just kill you, simple as that” Lexa responded bluntly.

Eivor let out a small laugh at this, finding her blunt attitude to be kind of amusing.

“Wait, back to the trade conversation. What would you give us for this sort of knowledge?” Clarke asked as the trade could be an immense boon to her people.

“Knowledge of the lands beyond the Coalitions. Teachings of how to take care of the crops. Seeds for said crops. Teachings on what is edible and not. Teachings that will allow your people to adapt to the ground easier” Eivor responded with a shrug. None of the things she was offering, was particularly important to her, thus her willingness to trade.

“That…that would be really helpful. Are you really willing to teach us all of that?” Clarke asked.

“I’ve got plenty of books made that will teach you all you need to know. Just as I am willing to personally teach some of your people. That also extends to your people, Lexa” Eivor said, turning to Lexa with a smile.

Lexa’s lip twitched at being called by her name by someone she barely knew.

“...I will take first watch” Lexa said after a few moments.

Eivor raised an eyebrow, before shrugging and leaning back against a tree stump. Her horse wasn’t with her any longer, but she was certain one of her followers had already taken care of it.

“I’ll take second then” Eivor said with a smile, as she reached into her bag. Lexa tensed at this, before blinking as Eivor brought out some beef jerky that her village had whipped up for her.

Biting into it, she sighed at the taste ‘God I love jerky’

“What is that?” Clarke asked, looking at the piece of jerky. It smelt…really really good.

“Beef jerky. Want some?” Eivor asked, bringing two more pieces out of her bag.

Glancing at it, Clark grabbed it before taking a hesitant bite. Her eyes widened at the taste “This is…amazing! Do you make this in your village?”

“Yep. Some of my people have mastered the art of making Jerky” Eivor said with a smile, before glancing at Lexa who seemingly gulped.

“It’s not gonna kill you, Lexa” Eivor said with amusement swirling in her eyes.

“You could have poisoned it” Lexa replied.

Eivor rolled her eyes at this, before ripping off a small piece of the piece she was offering Lexa, and eating it.

“Here, if it is poisoned, I’ll be poisoned with you” Eivor said placing the piece in Lexa’s hand.

Lexa glanced at the jerky before taking a bite, almost immediately she let out a sigh at the taste “Where has this been in my life…” Lexa whispered as she ripped into the jerky, her cheeks puffing up slightly.

“Cute” Eivor whispered, looking at Lexa’s cheek all puffed up.

Downing the last piece, Lexa looked back at Eivor “More?”

Eivor’s eyebrow twitched, but she handed her two more pieces nonetheless, before doing the same with Clarke ‘My precious beef jerky’ Eivor cried inside.

“How do you make that stuff?” Clarke asked in interest, having never had something like it before.

“Mostly by drying meats and marinating them in different sauces and spices” Eivor responded with a shrug, as making it wasn’t too difficult. She had knowledge of doing it from her previous life, having made it several times, and she enjoyed cooking enough to do it regularly.

“Can you teach us that? I’m sure we can give something of equal value” Clarke asked, causing Eivor to nod with a smile.

“That’s fine. It’s pretty easy to make, and if stored correctly, this stuff could sit for months and still be safe to eat” Eivor responded.

“Hmm, I believe our cooks might also be interested in this…beef jerky. What would you want in return?” Lexa asked.

“Knowledge or seeds. Seeds would be good for my village, as having some new fruits or vegetables would be nice. Knowledge…entirely matters on what you have to offer” Eivor responded with a shrug.

“...Would you like to come with me to Tondc? Clarke will be returning to her home but will return within a couple of days. Should you come with me, we can begin trading” Lexa asked, looking to Eivor with interest.

“Sure. I was planning on heading to a nearby village anyways” Eivor replied, inwardly happy with this.

“Good, now sleep, so that you have energy for the journey” Lexa spoke, causing Eivor to nod.

‘Good…first step to improving my kingdom even more’

Next chapter will be some moments between her and Lexa, and talks about trade.

Love interests for “The 100” is Lexa and Clarke. She’ll have a maximum of 1-2 more lovers in future worlds.

She’s not going to get any armies with crazy good technology, or even modern technology, until a couple worlds down the road.
