Chapter 51 [Vault]

Title - The Mighty | Chapter 2

[3rd POV] [National City] [1 Month Later]

Time had flickered on by since Maeve’s initial reincarnation.

Pretty much the first thing she did was steal small amounts of cash off of people. She did this entirely with people that were rich-looking douche’s. It took her a little over 2 days to get a good amount of cash, just over a few grand.

With that money, she got herself a small hotel room for a few days. After that, she went to a nearby Casino and won quite a number of jackpots. She ended up winning so much, that she got banned from the Casino. Just over 3.5 million in winnings.

She did this with a bit of Thor’s electricity, and her speed. No one could even notice as she basically cheated and won.

She did this three different times around National city, before she was banned from all Casino’s in the city. Mainly because she had won just over 8 million USD in the end. Most of which was spent on getting herself a good apartment, clothes, and some other supplies she wanted for herself. As well as a car, some good electronics, and a host of other things of use to her. She planned on eventually building up her own company once she got the wealth and necessary power for it, but that was in the future.

By the end of it, she was left with just over 4 million USD.

Currently, Maeve was sipping on some coffee in her living room of her apartment as she read through her phone.

She was on a dating app at the moment, why? Because there was a very very specific individual she wanted to meet, and it was able to be done through it. It might be a teensy bit of a weird way to do it, but she wouldn’t lie and say she wasn’t incredibly attracted to the one she was hoping to go on a date with.

She answered all the questions that would quantify her “Compatibility Percentage” with others, before submitting it.

Reading through the options, she stopped at a name with “98%” next to the name “KD”.

The app itself was all done without messages or anything like that, and instead, was sort of like uber, in the sense that the two who wished to go on a date, would decide where they’d do it at. They wouldn’t know each other's name, or anything else, except gender…which she was pretty sure KD didn’t notice that she was a woman.

‘Not a bad dating app, all things considered’ Maeve thought with a smile, as she accepted the date with KD, at a nice little club a few blocks from her apartment.

Maeve blinked as she watched a note glow into the space in front of her.

“Now that season 1 has started, you will receive your first true bunch of Three Characters”

“Character 1: Valkyrie (MCU)”

“Character 2: Wonder Woman (DCEU)”

“Character 3: Black Adam (DCEU)”

Blinking as she read through the three characters she got, Maeve grinned at the assortment. ‘The second and last ones are easily the best of the bunch’ Maeve thought, understanding just how overpowered the two would be. Wonder Woman was strong enough, but Black Adams was a huge boost. If she said the word “Shazam” she’d be getting the power of two different characters at the same time.

Black Adam had the Stamina of Shu, Swiftness of Heru, Strength of Amon, Wisdom of Zehuti, Power of Aten, and Courge of Mehen. The guy was on par, if not stronger than Shazam himself, and was even comparable to Superman, well, in DCEU at least. Superman and Supergirl were both more than likely stronger than that version of Superman.

Breathing, she felt power begin to flood her. She could also feel an influx of pain. But thankfully, while not having the memories of the characters, she did get all their instincts for battle, combat, etc. So, when she went back to learn things swordsmanship, she would rapidly learn it, until she got to their level.

She ended up abusing this during that month, getting to the same level as Thor in terms of combat, be it wielding the hammer, axe, hand-to-hand, or whatever else. This also made her more skilled than most, even someone like Alex Danvers of the DEO. She doubted she’d be as good as Green Arrow or Sara, but it was enough.

The influx of power continued for a few moments, as she breathed in deeply. After a few moments, a soft crackling of Lightning filled the room, as she felt a weight in her hands. Looking down, she smiled widely.

Feeling the hum of power in her hand, she grinned. Mjolnir and Stormbreaker both hummed, with Stomrbreaker in her pocket, and Mjolnir laying against the chair.

‘Let’s see what you transform into’ Maeve thought, as it began to change form. It slowly wrapped around her wrist, causing her to smile softly.

‘Perfect. All three of them are the perfect to haul around anywhere’ Maeve thought with a smile, happy with the form.

‘Now, lets get ready for that date’

[A few hours later, a club in National City]

Maeve was walking through the streets, into a club. She had dressed up into a rather simple getup, with a comfortable overcoat, and mostly dressed for comfort, but also for a bit of fashion. She decided to just go with the clothes she appeared in, as they were definitely her favorite outfit.

Walking into the club and ignoring the various people (mostly dudes) that were glancing at her. She eventually found the one she was going on a date with. A rather adorable woman with glasses, a tall form, shorter than Maeve by 2 inches, standing at 5’8. She had a nervous expression on her face, and a rather simple set of clothes on.

‘...Wow’ Maeve thought with a blink. ‘...She looks even better in person’

Walking forward, Maeve smiled softly and spoke “Are you KD?”

KD, aka Kara Danvers, blinked and turned to her “U-um yes?”

Maeve lifted her phone up, showing her username and their match.

Kara’s eyes widened instantly “Oh my god! I’m so sorry, I-I didn’t realize you were a girl!”

Maeve laughed softly and moved to sit across from her “I had a feeling”

“Well, since we’re already here, do you want to still get dinner? No flirting or any of that normal date stuff, just as…two new people who just met” Maeve asked, looking at Kara who blinked before smiling slightly.

“I’d like that” Kara responded.

“So, KD, what’s your actual name?” Maeve asked as she looked to the gorgeous/adorable woman that she was now very very much interested in.

“Kara Danvers, and yours?”

“Maeve Odinsdottir” Maeve responded, chuckling at the look of surprise on Kara’s face.

“Thats…a unique name, is it Norse? I know Odin is a Norse god, right?”

“Scandanavian. And yeah, my family was…old fashioned” Maeve replied with a chuckle.

Kara noticed the word “Was” and decided to quickly change subjects.

“So, how long have you lived in National City?”

“About a month now. I only got a place of living 2 weeks ago or so” Maeve responded after thinking for a few moments, her thumb softly playing with the top of her cane.

“Where’d you live before that?” Kara asked, sipping on her drink after a waiter came by.

“Ah, I was homeless” Maeve responded, a small smile on her face.

“Oh…I’m sorry that I even brought that up in the first place” Kara responded, embarrassed and feeling bad.

“It’s okay, you didn’t know. Plus, It’s behind me. I got a nice new apartment, and I’ve got enough money to live comfortably now. I guess that’s the side effect of getting banned from all National City Casino’s” Maeve said with a chuckle.

“Banned from casinos? How come?” Kara asked, growing more and more interested in this new woman.

“I won too many jackpots, if you believe it” Maeve replied as she sipped on her own drink. The alcohol not affecting her in the least.

“I didn’t even know that was possible. So, I guess you got pretty luck, huh” Kara responded, surprised at the fact that you could even get banned from a casino. She’d never been to one, so she wasn’t really knowledgeable on them.

“Yep, I guess being homeless for so long, sort of built up my luck and them boom! It all poured out and helped me when I needed it. Although it sucks I got banned, I sorta wanted to get more money out of the suckers who keep scamming everyone else” Maeve said with a chuckle, with Kara cracking a smile in response.

“So, what about you? Where are you originally from? Can’t be National City” Maeve asked.

“Like where was I born? Um, uh, North” Kara sputtered, trying to make up a good excuse.

“Ah that makes sense. Definitely way too cute to come from National City” Maeve said with a small smirk as she noticed the dusting of pink coating Kara’s cheeks.

Their rather enjoyable “Not date” was cut off as a TV was turned up.

“If you’re just joining us, shortly after take-off, National City Airlines, Flight 237 bound for Geneva, is experiencing some loss of altitude. The pilot seems to be circling the city after an apparent engine failure” The News broadcaster said.

“You alright Kara?” Maeve asked, noticing the way she paled.

“H-He said Geneva right? My sisters on that flight” Kara said as she got to her feet.

“Go, your sister is more important than our “Not Date”” Maeve said with a smile.

“Thank you so much, and I am so sorry. Um…how about you give me your phone number?” Kara asked quickly.

“Already had it ready” Maeve said with a smile, handing her a small note with her number on it. Kara grabbed it and put it in her pocket, before running off.

Watching her go, Maeve inwardly smiled.

‘Go save your sister…Supergirl’

That’s the end of the chapter!

I plan on getting this fic to 5 chapters next, as I am in my “Supergirl” phase right now. Kara is the love interest if that wasn’t already obvious enough.

Next chapter will be her interacting with Kara more, and some other stuff.

The three characters she got are genuinely random, so yeah. There was also Escanor, Captain Marvel, Homelander, and several others on the list.

Maeve won’t be as cruel/kill happy as my other characters, and will be more of a “Chaotic Good” only killing those that truly deserve it, the rest goes straight to prison. As in Arrowverse, a lot of the more minor characters actually stay there.

I might upload this fic up to 10 chapters, as it has a lot of potential in my eyes.
