Chapter 62 [Vault]

Title - Amity Blight and the Skill System

Amity Blight was having an incredibly…interesting day.

It had started with the normal taunts from her siblings, her father ignoring her, and her mother screaming at her about how “Ungrateful” she is, and a whole host of other insults. Amity was just happy her oh-so-loving mother didn’t resort to hitting like she usually did.

Then there was school, where she had to listen to the intolerable Boscha, the resident arrogant bully, who she was forced to become friends with, courtesy of her mother. Boscha’s mothers were both high-class people, rich snobs just like her parents. The only difference is, that they didn’t hit, abuse, neglect, or bully their daughter.

Those two things weren’t really the interesting part of her day. The thing that was interesting, and had caught Amity’s attention, was the knowledge that had been steadily flooding her mind.

At first, it was barely noticeable and had only some minor stuff, like Human math, science, and other things you’d learn in high school.

But now, it was the end of the day, and the knowledge was becoming more and more important. Knowledge of her own life, or rather, an alternate version of her life, had been shown to her as if it were a show. Showing her life with a cute human named “Luz” and even more, in the form of the show “The Owl House”.

Alongside that, was the knowledge of dozens of other fictional universes, be it shows, movies, cartoons, anime, books, fanfic, and everything else similar.

And with this knowledge, came realization. These were her memories from her past life, memories given to her, thanks to the interference of some strange deity.

And now, she was sitting in her bed, slightly wide-eyed as a strange screen glowed in her vision.

[System Functions]

[Skill - The main, and most important aspect of the system. This function allows the user to level up “Skills” These skills are based on real powers/techniques the user learns/knows, such as Abomination magic or even Glyphs. The higher the level of skill gets, the stronger it becomes, the more uses it has, etc. The user can gain new skills after getting their current main skill to level 50, or by learning them through real means. This is harder though. These skills the user can learn is mostly based around the current universe, but can gain ones from other universes. Leveling skills is done through using them, learning more about that skill, killing with them, and some other means]

[Multiverse Travel - Allows the user to travel the multiverse, but only after a certain amount of time passes. Others can come with you, and time does not pass past 1 year, while gone]

[Fire Magic (Boiling Isles) | Level 1/250]

‘That is…underwhelming’ Amity thought in slight surprise, having expected a bit more from her skills.

‘System, why are there level limits so high? And why are they level 1?’

[For two reasons. 1: Skills of the Boiling Isles, are rather easy to level, due to them not being particularly strong, or hard to learn. 2: They have a lot of potential for growth in the future. They are level 1 because the system does not count previous training. This will allow the user to gain more power in these skills, than otherwise]

‘...I see, I guess that makes sense’ Amity thought, not against this.

‘My memories of my past life are…limited. But from what I can tell, a system like this will be very powerful, especially combined with the ability to travel the multiverse, and that level 50 clause’ Amity thought with a small grin.

‘System, how long until “Canon” begins?’ Amity inwardly asked. She knew that canon would be completely different, considering she was currently 17, not 14. Not to mention her siblings definitely are not being their teasing counterparts, but are instead major bullies to her, and then her…not so loving parents.

[3 months. Which should be more than enough time for the user to grow in power in their skills]

‘Definitely. I should be able to at least get my abomination magic to level 100 or so. Fire magic…I don’t know how long that one will take’ Amity thought with a hum. Her knowledge of fire magic was limited, as the books she had read on it so far, had been limited, to say the least.

Her abomination magic was alright, but she had been struggling with it as of recent. She wasn’t the most talented person, but she was sure, that with the new system, her growth would rapidly improve.

“Amity! Get down here right this instant!” A yell cut Amity off from her thoughts, causing her to sigh.

After an hour of getting screamed at by her “Loving mother” Amity was let go without a scratch, unlike what would usually happen.

At the moment, she was walking to the library, her favorite hiding spot, and the perfect place to train at in secret. After all, she still had her hidden spot in the library, given to her by the librarian. It would only be opened if they pulled on a specific book, which was in an incredibly unpopular area of the library, the…romance section.

She was wearing some pretty simple clothing for once, with her green hair down and not up like usual.

Walking into the library, she smiled and waved at the librarian, before walking off.

She walked through the magic section of the library, deciding to grab some books on fire magic and abomination magic. After some searching, she found a total of 5 books for each, before making her way to her hidden room.

Pulling on a book, she smiled as it revealed itself.

(This but slightly bigger)

Smiling at the size of the room, she walked in as the hidden wall closed behind her.

Sitting in her chair, she brought out the first book on Abomination magic. The book was one she had yet to read, so, it should be usable for increasing her abomination magics level.

‘Alright…let’s get started’

That’s the end of the chapter!

The next chapter should be longer and will be a time skip. It’ll cover and go into detail on her skills and how far she got in terms of levels.

It should be a better chapter in general, at least I really hope so lol.

I plan on uploading some more Vault chapters pretty soon, so be ready for that.
