Chapter 59 [Vault]

Title - Luz Noceda: The Wizard King

___________________________________________

Luz Noceda was not a normal human, not even remotely.

She had always known that she was different than the other kids. She had always learned quicker than others, knowing things she shouldn’t. Things that only someone much older would know, and yet she did. She had always felt differently about boys than others, something she didn’t understand until older.

But more so than that, she remembered, she remembered a life not her own. Memories detailing her life, her current one, as if it were a TV show. A show with magic, demons, Titans, and all sorts of creatures. A show that her past life had seemingly enjoyed more so than just about all others.

She couldn’t remember her name or family from her past life, but that didn’t matter to her. What mattered, was that things were different, different than the show. Things weren’t as…nice.

Her mom, Camila Noceda, was not the nice, loving, kind mother she was in the show. In her life, in her world, she was…not any of those things. Sure, she wasn’t an abusive mother, but she was bad in her own way. She was neglectful, horribly so.

Her mom didn’t kiss her injuries, she didn’t read her bedtime stories, she didn’t ask how her day at school was. She didn’t do any of it, she barely even remembered to feed her on most days. Something Luz had grown used to (even if she shouldn’t) after 17 years of living. Just as she got used to the lack of birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, and everything else a child should enjoy.

Just as she didn’t have a nice mom, she didn’t have as nice of a life as her alternate self. Bullies, taunts, and mean teachers were the norm for her. A normal she had long since gotten used to (which again, she shouldn’t be able to get used to that, but she did).

She didn’t get whisked away to the Boiling Isles (She wished for nothing more), and she certainly didn’t meet any Witches.

There were some things she did enjoy about her life. One of them being her mind. She was smart, much smarter than most. Having the memories of a past life, a life where you already have graduated from high school, a life where you already learned everything you were learning in your current life.

Thanks to this little fact, her education was…easy, hilariously so. Thanks to this, she had a lot of free time. Time to do things she actually wanted to do.

One such thing was reading. She found the books that her counterpart adored so much, the books detailing the adventures of “The Good Witch Azura”. She wasn’t as big of a fan as her counterpart, but she did have to admit, the books weren’t bad.

Just as she enjoyed reading, she enjoyed other things in life. One of them is working out and training.

She enjoyed taking out all her anger out through training, working out, punching a bag, and all sorts of ways. She enjoyed the way time whisked on after just working out. Plus, having abs was a nice addition, that she certainly wasn’t about to complain about.

Even after 17 years of living, Luz had never once found out why she remembered. After the 14th year, she gave up on finding out, chalking it up to some deity that reincarnated her. After all, what else could it have been? She had read plenty of fan fiction in her past life, so it wasn’t the most impossible thing in the world.

Even with all those memories, she had given up on the idea of the Boiling Isles becoming accessible to her. She knew it more than likely existed (at least she hoped so), but she couldn’t get there. And the longer she lived, the more her memories regarding her counterpart became foggy.

Sure, she remembered Belos and how dangerous he was, distinctly. Just as she remembered certain plotlines, foes, and fights. But the characters grew foggy. If she ever met them, she’s sure she’d remember some of it, but she doubted she’d ever remember everything about them.

That didn’t bother her though. As this universe was already different enough, she was 100% sure they would be different as well.

But after 17 years of living, something finally changed.

___________________________________________

It was a normal day at Gravesfield High School. A day of learning, a very very boring day. The only difference was that it was the last day until Summer Break.

Well, that’s what Luz thought at least.

She was in her last class for the day and the class she hated the most of them all. Why? Because the resident rich kid bully was in the class, a girl simply known as “Grace Vandersfield”.

Said girl was the one that bullied Luz the most, and the one that Luz would love nothing more than to lay on her ass. But sadly, Luz had self-control, otherwise, the girl would realize that Luz’s baggy clothing covered just how toned and fit she actually was.

Besides having full-blown abs, she also stood at 6’0, and was the epitome of “Sexy Tomboy”. Grace on the other hand was 5’1, tiny, and only slightly above average. She also didn’t have any sort of self-defense training (like Luz did, courtesy of years of Karate, Boxing, and Jiu Jitsu classes), and found it all too “Brutish”.

Sitting, Luz yawned in boredom. She was sketching in her notebook, as she usually did when bored. The teacher ignored this little fact, as she was one of the few nice teachers, that knew just how intelligent Luz truly was.

Luz’s most recent sketch was of a different fictional character she remembered, a sketch of “Natsu Dragneel” from Fairy Tail.

As she continued to sketch, a voice sounded out behind her.

“Psst! Luuzer” A distinctly annoying teen's voice sounded out in Luz’s ear.

‘Luz, just ignore her, as you always do’ Luz thought to herself, ignoring the voice of Grace. She had gotten used to ignoring the annoying girl, something the bully in question hated.

“Gonna ignore me again?” Grace asked, a grin on her face as she threw another small ball of paper at Luz.

Luz didn’t give her the gratification of an answer, as the bell rang.

Without hesitating for a moment, Luz walked out of the classroom.

“Hey Luuzer! Don’t ignore me when I’m talking to you!” Grace yelled out, as she grabbed Luz’s arm from behind.

“Go away, Vandersfield. Schools over, go find something else to do, to satisfy that ego of yours” Luz replied, pulling away from Grace as she made her way to her locker.

Grace growled in annoyance, which Luz promptly ignored.

Walking out of the school, Luz sighed as she could hear Grace behind her.

“What do you want, Vandersfield? Don’t you have anything better to do, than by an annoyance?” Luz asked, looking at the shorter girl with an annoyed expression.

“Don’t you have anything better to do, than be a loser?” Grace responded with a smirk.

Luz deadpanned at Grace’s “comeback” and replied “Yep, getting home, sleeping, eating, literally anything other than talking to you”

Grace growled but wasn’t able to continue as Luz walked off. Grace didn’t follow this time, as Luz left.

Walking through Gravesfield, Luz sighed ‘Another day of nothing interesting’ Luz thought, bored out of her mind. Every day for the past few years has been roughly the same, with nothing new or interesting of note happening. Sure, training and working out was fun and all, but even that did little to lessen her growing boredom.

“Looks like Camila’s home” Luz sighed as she made her way to her house. It was out of the way and was within the forests near the town. There was only a single house neighboring theirs, but it hadn’t been lived in for years. Besides that, there was the old house behind theirs, but it was deeper into the first, and even further out of the way.

‘Let’s see what she’s going to complain about now’ Luz thought, knowing Camila had grown more…antagonistic in recent months. Probably because of her growing influx of trips to the principal's office (most of which weren’t her fault).

“Ah, you’re back, good” A voice sounded out as Luz walked in. Turning to her side, she saw her mother standing there.

‘Why do I have a bad feeling’ Luz thought, frowning. Camila had a smile on her face…something Luz hadn’t seen like…ever.

“I’ve signed you up for a summer camp!” Camila said with a smile, causing Luz to blink.

“Why?” Luz asked, raising an eyebrow.

“You’ve been getting in trouble so much recently, I think it’d do some good for you! God knows you need all the help you can get”

“Yeah…no. I’m not going to that” Luz replied with a deadpan.

“Good thing you aren’t getting a choice! It’s a military summer camp, one that involves dragging you there by force if they have to” Camila replied with a smile, uncaring for the growing frown on Luz’s face.

“Go and get packed. Otherwise, they’ll just drag you there forcefully, and it’d be embarrassing having to see that. Oh, and I’ve taken the liberty of throwing away those books of yours. You won’t be needing them after this” Camila said with a grin, before walking off, leaving for work.

‘This…this sounds like the pilot from my other self, what happened just before…’ Luz’s eyes widened in realization, as she sprinted outside.

She already had her bag with her, which basically already housed all her valuables of importance to her. As she knew better than to leave any of her truly important valuables lying around for Camila to steal or throw away. Something the older woman really enjoyed doing.

As she raced outside, her eyes widened as she saw a small owl-like creature carrying a bag, with her “The Good Witch Azura” books 1-5 inside.

‘It-it’s actually real’ Luz thought in realization, a smile slowly forming on her face, as she began to run after the small Owl.

The owl flew through the forest until it reached the Old House that was in the forest behind hers. Watching as it flew through the door, Luz breathed in, before she glanced back.

‘Goodbye, Camila’ Luz thought without a drop of sadness, as she ran through the door after the small owl.

As she walked through, Luz noticed the surroundings change. Finding herself in a large tent full of…junk, a lot of junk. ‘I’m really here…I’m on the Boiling Isles’ Luz thought with her eyes sparkling in slight excitement.

Making her way to the edge of the tent, she heard an older woman's voice, as she began to listen

“Finally, you’re back! Now, let’s see what you got here” The woman said, as the “Owl” flew up, and got slowly attached to a staff, returning to a wooden-looking appearance. A “Palisman” as they were known.

Pulling the tent open slightly, she noticed the woman’s appearance. She was tall, had large bushy grew hair, and was quite pale.

‘Eda Clawthorne…The Owl Lady’ Luz thought, breathing in deeply, knowing for certain that she was truly in the Boiling Isles.

She watched as the woman tossed several items to the side, dubbing them as garbage. Before eventually stopping at some rather…interesting “Googly Eyes” glasses. Only to then pull out Luz’s book, and begin to use it as Kindling.

Seeing this, Luz surged forward. Grabbing the book from Eda’s hands, she spoke.

“Sorry, but this is mine” Luz said, stepping back as the woman looked to her in surprise. The Portal door that she came through, closed behind her with a soft pop.

Luz only had one more thought as Eda grabbed her and plopped her onto a chair.

‘Hopefully this goes well’

That’s the end of the chapter!

The end of this chapter was pretty hard to write, so I’m not sure how well it turned out. Hopefully, it was decent!

This is my first Owl House fic too, so bear with me. I have been sort of addicted to it the past few days (binged the entire show, and now I can’t stop reading fics about it…help)

The love interest is obvious, as there is only one person in the show for Luz.

Luz does have her own unique power, one that you might be able to figure out, based on the title of this fic.

Luz will be overpowered for Owl House, but I do plan on her going to other worlds in the future (Gravity Falls, Amphibia, RWBY, and several other ones).

I plan on also making a fic with Amity as the main character, so be ready for whenever that releases.

Anyways, have a good day, see you tomorrow!
