Chapter 76 [Vault]

Title - Valkyrie Mikaelson: Mistress of Essences | Chapter 7

[3rd POV] [The Next Night]

Within a large mansion, a large group of people were gathered. They were all dressed in lavish suits and dresses, with ornate jewelry on many of the womens bodies, be it their necks, wrists, or hands. They were all looking up at one individual, this being…Esther. 

Within he crowd of individuals was Klaus, Finn, Kol, Elijah, and Rebekah. But there was also 4 other people of note. 

Caroline Forbes, an interest of Klaus’s, and a recently turned vampire. Also one of the best friends to Elena Gilbert, and Bonnie Bennett. 

There was also Damon Salvatore, a dark headed man, certified prick, and a man that had taken advantage of Caroline when she was human, full blowing sexually assaulting the girl, but faced no repercussions for his actions. 

Stefan Salvatore, the younger brother of Damon, the Ripper, an old friend of Klaus’s, old love interest of Rebekahs (during the 20’s), and a much kinder man than Damon. 

And of course, there was one Elena Gilbert. The doppleganger of Tatia and another from long ago, a being that Klaus needed alive in order to create more beings like him, more hybrids. She was also in a rather…interesting love triangle with the Salvatore’s, and was a pretty annoying woman, due to her tendency to use others for her own gain, without thinking about what they felt. 

Looking up at Esther, the woman began to speak, a glass of champagne in hand. 

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Waiters are coming round with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. It provides me no greater joy than to see my family back together as one. I’d like to th-” Before Esther could continue, a feminine voice sounded out from higher up the stairs, a voice that the Mikaelsons knew, Klaus most of all. 

“Honestly, I know it’s been quite some time since we last saw eachother, but you could have at least waited for me to arrive” The voice sounded out, a grin practically heard on their face. 

With wide eyes full of shock and small parts of horror, Esther turned, with the rest of the Mikaelsons doing the same. Tears began to well up in the eyes of the siblings, as standing there was the one and only…Valkyrie Mikaelson. 

“Ah, sorry everyone, it seems my mother here is in quite the shocked state. It’s been many years since I last saw her, or any of my siblings for that matter. I was the first to leave the nest, as they say” Valkyrie said with amusement in her eyes, as Klaus struggled to fight the tears. He would have yelled and roared that she was a fake, but he could feel the bond, his inner wolf went crazy as he felt his Twin bond snap back into his place. 

Tears were openly trickling down Rebekah’s face, and most surprisingly, Finn’s. With Elijah having a rare look of shock on his face, while Kol just had wide eyes. 

“Elijah, who-who is that?” Elena asked next to him, noticing the look of shock on their faces. 

“That-” 

“Ah, I suppose I should introduce myself then, shouldn’t I?” Valkyrie said, looking over the crowd of somewhat confused onlookers. 

“I am Valkyrie Mikaelson, Older Twin sister of my brother, Niklaus” Valkyrie said, grinning as horror entered the eyes of the Salvatore siblings and Elena. 

“Klaus you had a twin?” Caroline whispered in shock. 

“Sh-She died over a thousand years ago…” Klaus whispered, as he looked at his dear twin, the only one who truly understood his struggles and hardships, the only one he trusted wholeheartedly. 

“I must apologize for being late, I ended up taking a…nap, and I overslept I suppose” Valkyrie said with a chuckle, as she looked over the onlookers, as she slowly walked down the stairs to stand next to her shocked mother. 

“I don’t wish to steal my mothers moment, but I think I’ll do the cheers this time, only if that’s okay with you, of course?” Valkyrie said, looking to her mother, who hesitantly nodded. 

“Ah good, good. Now then, I know that all of you have champagne from my mother, but I do believe you’ll want to swap to the ones that the waiters are giving out now. It’s a special champagne that I managed to pick up as of recent, and I think now is a good time to share it. 1907 Heidsieck, for those that don’t know, it is a 275,000 dollar bottle of champagne, so I do hope no one will waste any of it” Valkyrie said with a chuckle as many of those that knew of the bottle, eyes widened, and swapped glasses. 

On her side, Esther tried not to show her anger. The other champagne was “laced” with a linking spell of sorts, that Esther hoped to use to kill her children, something Valkyrie would never allow. 

“I do hope my siblings will come join me up here, as I believe a family cheers is in order” Valkyrie said, her eyes locking with Klaus’s, a warm smile on her face as the family made their way up the stairs to where she was standing. 

“Ah, thank you. As my mother said, it is a great joy to be together again. As it feels like it’s been a thousand years since I made a…pact with my family. A pact that, I do hope we can keep” Valkyrie spoke out, many were confused, but the Salvatores, Elena, and Caroline all listened closely. 

“Do you all remember the words I preached when we were young?” Valkyrie asked, causing them all to nod, a small grin formed on Klaus’s face. 

“Well then, I suppose it’s only right we say it again after so long, ah, and sorry to all the guests, as it has been many years since I’ve last seen them, and I wish to have a proper cheers” Valkyrie said, many nodded in agreeance, not finding any fault with her. 

Opening their mouths, the Mikaelson siblings all spoke as one. 

“”””””The Mikaelson Siblings stand as one, Always and Forever”””””” They all spoke, smiles forming on their faces as they spoke the full saying that Valkyrie had preached over 1,000 years ago. 

Looking back to the crowd, Valkyrie smiled “Cheers to this great evening, and cheers to the woman who saved my life all those years ago, cheers to…Ayana” 

As she said these words, a loud round of “Cheers” sounded out throughout the room, while the Mikaelson's eyes widened in realization, and Klaus’s grin grew as he realized how and why his sister was alive. 

“Now, you must excuse us, as I wish to meet with my family, it’s been quite some time since I’ve been able to talk to them. But please do enjoy the champagne, as there is plenty to go around” Valkyrie said with a smile, causing many of the enthusiasts to buzz at the chance to drink more of the delicious, and incredibly expensive champagne. 

Walking up the stairs and around a corner, the Mikaelsons soon found themselves in a room, alone. As Valkyrie turned back to her family to speak, she was cut off as Rebekah practically barreled into her arms. 

“Agh, bloody hell Bekah, warn me next ti-” Valkyrie stopped as she looked down, tears cascading down her little sister's face as she looked at her. 

“H-How are you alive?” Rebekah asked, tears of happiness streaking down her face. 

Looking at her little sister, and the rest of her family, she smiled softly. 

“When Mikael had…killed me, Ayana had found my body. She had asked the spirits of old, the Bennetts of ancient times, and even Nature itself to help save my life…and it did. I had been put into some sort of… cacoon, beneath what was once the Great White Oak Tree. And I’ve been in that…state for all this time” Valkyrie said softly. 

Esther at this news, went silent, realizing that that was the reason as to why she couldn’t see Valkyrie at all, and why no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t contact the Bennett’s of old. 

“Although, I suppose my awakening as a Werewolf also helped the healing process” Valkyrie added with a smile, causing Klaus’s eyes to widen. 

“You’re a wolf?” Klaus asked in hope, causing Valkyrie to softly motion for Rebekah to step back, as she walked closer to her twin. 

“Of course brother, we are twins, are we not? I promised I’d stay by all your sides, always and forever, did you really think I’d allow something as small as a blade to stop me from coming back?” Valkyrie asked with a small grin, only to blink as Klaus pulled her into a hug, a hug that Rebekah soon joined. 

“Are you three going to just stand there, or are you going to join?” Valkyrie asked, noticing that Esther had slipped out of the room. Perhaps giving them one moment of kindness, letting them have their moment without her glaring presence. 

At her words, Kol grinned and joined the group hug. “C'mon now Elijah, don’t make me bring out the blackmail card. After all, I remember that time at the lake when you-” “Alright alright!” Elijah said, cutting her off as she grinned, he soon showed a small smile of his own, as he joined the hug. 

Looking at Finn with soft eyes, she noticed him bite his lip, trying to stop the tears that were threatening to pour. “It’s okay to cry, dear older brother. These four are already doing it, even if they’re trying to hide it” Valkyrie said with a warm smile, as she felt the wetness against her clothing, making it glaringly obvious that her siblings were crying, not of sadness like the last time she had seen them, but of happiness. 

At these words, a soft sob escaped Finn, as he joined the hug. 

And so…the beginning of a new age for the Mikaelson family would begin. One of rebirth, healing, love, and more than anything…unity. For the Mikaelsons were whole again, and nothing in the world could stop them…not even their parents.

That’s the end of the chapter!

I'm not sure how well this was made, but I hope I did the reunion justice. 

Flashbacks will be happening in future chapters, mainly for things like how Henrik truly died, the family growing up, and other similar things. There will of course be flashbacks for the Mikaelsons, and the changes Valkyrie's influence had on them during the 1000 years.

Valkyrie won’t be getting another essence for some time. 

Who should Valkyrie’s love interest be? I was trying to think of one, but it’s genuinely difficult for this fic. As I already know who I’m pairing a majority of the Mikaelsons with, but I’m not sure about her. 

Perhaps a little wolf? It could change quite a bit, and add in some spice. 

Let me know who you guys think would be a good choice!

The next chapter should be more or less the same length, and will probably have her first true interactions with the Salvatores and Elena. Might even have one with the last Bennett Witch.
