Chapter 77 [Vault]

[3rd POV] [5 Years Later]

Loud squeals and giggled filled the rooms of a large mansion, as the sounds of feet rapidly hiding the floorboards of the ancient home, reverberated through it’s ancient halls. 

“Azalea Lilian Potter! Get your butt back here!” The loud yell of an older woman sounded out, as the sounds of feet stopped abruptly. 

“Uh-Oops?” A small redheaded child squeaked, as she was scooped up by her mother. This was Azalea and Lily. 

“You’re in so much trouble, missy” Lily said holding her daughter. 

“But it was an accident!” Azalea refuted. 

“Azalea, you grew a tree in the living room” Lily replied, giving her daughter an unamused look. 

“Sorry Mama” Azalea whispered, understanding that she was in trouble for a reason. 

She had been messing around with Disaster, testing her growth capabilities, and she severely underestimated the strength of her ability. 

Sighing at the look on her daughters face, Lily spoke “It’s alright, my flower. But you’ve got to be careful, alright? Tilly can’t keep repairing the roof or digging out trees” 

“Alright Mama, I’ll be careful!” Azalea replied with a smile, while Lily just rolled her eyes, knowing her daughter was going to do exactly the opposite of that. 

“I’m home!” A deeper voice sounded out, belonging to her father, James Potter. 

“Papa!” Azalea said, as she jumped out of Lily’s arms, into her father's. 

“Ah, my little flower! Have you missed me?” 

“Mmhmm!” Azalea nodded rapidly. 

James was about to continue, only to blink at the sight of a large tree sitting in the middle of the house. 

“Azalea did you mess around with your ability again?” James asked, looking at his daughter who looked to the side sheepishly. 

“Maybe? But it was an accident, I promise!” Azalea replied, as it genuinely was one. 

James and Lily had known about “Disaster” since Azalea had turned 1, when she accidentally grew a tree in their room after nearly being tortured by the sight of them “doing it”. Safe to say, the two realized then and there that their daughter was very very special. 

They realized this yet again when they caught her reading books in the Potter Manor library, books far beyond her years, 1st year Hogwarts books. And that was when she was four years old. 

They had kept the fact that she was a genius a secret from everyone except Sirius and Remus. Even Peter was kept out, as Azalea seemingly hated the man, and kept saying he was a “Rat” which neither understood. 

Sighing at his daughter, he put her on the ground. 

“Azalea, you must understand that this…ability of yours, is powerful, and very very dangerous, okay? You have to be extra careful when using it since we don’t know what it can truly do. Do you understand?” James asked softly, wanting to make sure she understood how dangerous an ability like that would be when not carefully used. 

“Okay, but it really was an accident” Azalea said, knowing that what her father said was true. 

“I know, princess” James replied with a small chuckle, as he pecked Lily on the cheek. 

“How was the meeting?” Lily asked quietly. 

“Azalea, why don’t you go ahead and find something to do? You’re mother and I need to talk” James asked, causing Azalea to blink but nod, before running off to the library. 

“It’s bad Lil’s” James said after Azalea left. 

“How bad?” 

“Bad enough that Dumbledore is suggesting that we not only move, but get ourselves a secret keeper” James replied, causing Lily to breathe in deeply, understanding that that was a big step, and one that meant the war against Voldemort was getting worse. 

“Then we should do it, if it means that we can keep Azalea safe then we need to leave, James” Lily responded, causing James to sigh. 

“That’s what I thought as well. I love this place but…it’s not safe here. And it’d be even worse if Voldemort destroyed my families ancestral home” James said with a nod, agreeing with his wife. 

“Godric’s Hollow?” Lily asked, causing James to nod. 

“That’s the plan”

[With Azalea]

Sitting in the library, Azalea sighed. 

It had been 5 years since she had reincarnated into this wold, and things had been…nice. She had a loving mother and father, who she loved just as much. She had magic that she adored. She had nice house elves that helped her with all her needs. She was happy. 

But, she also knew that this happiness was…not going to last much longer. The war would reach it’s head, and Voldemort WOULD attack. Her brother would be born in a year, and then a year after that, her parents would die. There was a prophecy and everything, and knowing fate, it was unlikely she’d be able to stop it. 

The best she could do was prepare herself to use Ruler in order to safe her brother, stopping Voldemort from turning him into a Horcrux. While also preparing her for the inevitability of going to the Durselys, where she would need to raise Harry on her own. If not, then she’d find a way back to the Potter manor and raise him by herself there. 

She had also used all her time to read through the library, mastering as many spells as humanly possible, and thanks to her absolutely monstrous talent and potential, that proved to be…very easy. Her parents believed that she was still reading through the first-year books, but that, was a lie. She was already far into the 3rd year books and hoped to have mastered all the way to 7th year by the time the event happened. 

“Thanky you Tilly!” Azalea said with a pleased smile, as she was handed tea. 

“No needs to thanks Tilly” 

“Um, Tilly, can I ask a question?” 

“Of course” 

“If…If anything was to ever happen to my parents, what would happen to you?” Azalea asked, causing an alarmed look to cross Tilly’s face. 

“We-Well Tilly’s would be bound to Young Miss Azalea instead! Tilly and alls the House Elves of House Potter, are bound to whoever the Heir is if the Lords passes away” Tilly answered, causing Azalea to nod after getting her answer. 

“Thank you for answering, Tilly” Azalea smiled, as Tilly bowed before popping off, concerned for her young miss.

Breathing in, Azalea looked at the 3rd year book in front of her, and thought ‘Let’s just try our best to get as strong as possible before then…and pray I can do something to stop him’ 

Sadly…fate was fickle, and not even Azalea could stop it, and soon…she would come to realize that.

That’s the end of the chapter!

This was basically an intermission before the BIG event with Voldemort. 

Love interest for Azalea will probably be in one of the future worlds, and not this one. As she’s older than pretty much every character in HP that is of a decent age, except Tonks, but I’m not sure if I want to put them together. 

I should be updating the Valkyrie fic within a day or two, and potentially one of my older vault fics.
