Chapter 78 [Vault]

Title - Valkyrie Mikaelson: Mistress of Essences | Chapter 8

[3rd POV]

After the cry session, the siblings were all looking embarrassed as their eyes were slightly red, while Valkyrie just had a small smirk on her face. 

“You guys are positively adorable” Valkyrie said with a teasing grin. 

“Oh shut it sister” Rebekah said with a huff. 

Valkyrie just gave her a grin in response. 

“Mother wishes to kill all of us” Finn’s voice shattered the mood, as the man abruptly spoke. 

Valkyrie sighed at the abrupt reveal, but was happy that Finn was seemingly rethinking his decision of helping the vile woman. 

The siblings looked at Finn in shock, before Elijah asked “And how do you know this?”

Finn looked hesitant, before noticing the small nod Valkyrie gave him. 

“I was going to help her” Finn responded, causing Klaus to growl, preparing to attack him, only to have his arm held in a vice grip by Valkyrie. 

“Let him speak, Nik” Valkyrie said, stopping Klaus before he could even do anything. 

“She laced the champagne that we were about to drink with a linking spell. Using that spell, my blood, and some other materials, she was preparing to use a ritual that would turn us human, and then, she would kill me, therefore killing all of you, and every vampire you’ve ever sired” Finn explained, as Klaus snarled. 

“Of course she would do that! Why am I not even surprised?” Kol said as he threw his hands up. 

“Why help her, brother? What has happened since I’ve been gone?” Val softly asked, walking closer to the eldest Mikaelson sibling. 

“We became monsters, Val. We hunted humans like they were sport, with little care for the consequences. We…we did so many horrible things. Massacres, death, destruction. That is all we have brought…all I have brought” Finn said, looking down. 

“And when I was daggered, and put into that horrible place, I was forced to think over and relive all the horrible things I’ve done” 

At the daggering part, Valkyrie growled and glared fiercely at Klaus, who flinched at the look. 

“And what happens when you’re daggered? What does it feel like?” 

“Like…like you’re in a neverending expanse of darkness, with nothing but your own thoughts. I was stuck in such a place for hundreds of years. It was…maddening” Finn responded, as the other siblings flinched. 

Klaus blinked at this “Wha-what? Why didn’t any of you tell me of such a thing?!” Klaus asked, having seemingly not known that piece of information. 

“I thought you knew” Finn replied, as the other Mikaelsons looked at Klaus in surprise, as they too thought he knew of it. 

“And how did you stay sane?” Valkyrie asked. 

“Thinking. Thinking about everything that has happened to our family, and what went wrong” Finn replied after a few moments. 

“For the first five years I counted the time, but my mind began to unravel, so after that I thought about the different things that had happened, and even that didn’t last long. After that, I just meditated and grew my connection to myself” Valkyrie said, causing the group to look at her in surprise. 

“What? Did you think I just slept? Nope, that entire time I was stuck in darkness too, for over a thousand years. Honestly the fact that I’m not insane right now is a miracle” Valkyrie added, raising an eyebrow at their shock. 

“Val…” Kol muttered. 

“It’s alright though, I’ve got you guys now, and that’s more than enough. As for you Finn…” Val trailed off, as she walked to her older brother. 

“You are NOT a monster. Do you understand? You’re the farthest thing from a monster in this family. Mikael was a monster, Esther was a monster, but you? You are not one, not even close. You are a Mikaelson, Finn, and nothing you do will change that. Nothing ANY of you do will change that” Valkyrie said, giving all her siblings a look. 

She knew that they had all committed atrocities while she was asleep but frankly…she didn’t care. She wasn’t a good person, and never said she was one. She cared for her family above everything, and should she need to, she wasn’t against slaughtering an entire city to save them. 

“But we’ve-” “Ah ah ah! Don’t wanna hear it. You’re my siblings, and nothing you guys do will change that. So shush about this dying business and live a little” Valkyrie said, cutting Finn off. 

“Live a little?”

“I mean find something you enjoy. Perhaps reading? Or farming, you always liked reading about herbs, or even potion creation, as not all potions need magic. Hells, maybe you can try to find love” Valkyrie explained, causing Finn to blink at the final words. 

“...Find love…” Finn muttered, as he remembered a love he had many years ago. 

“Oh? Seems you might have found that love already, is it someone we’d know?” Valkyrie asked with a small smirk. 

Finn glanced at Klaus and Rebekah “They do, but they hated her guts and daggered me before we could start anything” 

Valkyrie gave the two a small look, before smiling warmly at her oldest brother “What’s her name? Maybe she’s still alive, and if she is, I can help find her”

“Sage, her name was Sage” Finn replied, causing Valkyrie to nod. 

“Well then, looks like we’ll need to find this Sage of yours” Valkyrie said. 

“And how are you certain she is still alive? She’d be over 900 years old by now” Elijah asked, causing Valkyrie to turn to him.

“Faith, and the fact that if Finn’s look was any indicator, and she felt the same way, then she’s still waiting for him, still searching in hopes of finding her love” Valkyrie said, causing Klaus to look at Finn, before sighing and speaking. 

“I…may have some friends that I can call upon to find her, should she be alive” Klaus said, causing Finn to look at him in surprise. 

“That…that would mean a lot, thank you, Niklaus” Finn said with a small smile forming on his face. 

“Not that this isn’t sweet, but what are we going to do about mother?” Rebekah asked, causing Valkyrie to turn to her, and giving the rest of her siblings a look. 

“I’ll deal with her” Valkyrie responded, causing them to glance at her.

“No offense sister, but how? You’re just a werewolf” Kol asked, as her family looked at her with interest. 

In response, Valkyrie spoke “I’ll tell you if you swear to not reveal what I’m about to show you to anyone besides those in this room” 

Blinking at the ask, they all looked at one another and nodded. Seeing this, Valkyrie grinned, before softly speaking “Incendia” As she said those words, the groups eyes went wide as a flame formed in her hand, dancing around her palm as she manipulated it with ease. 

“You-” 

Looking at her brother, Valkyrie grinned, before speaking as her eyes glowed powerfully. 

“You’re not the only Hybrid anymore, Nik”

Next chapter will be the end of the gala, and will have some other stuff happening. I’ll be uploading another vault fic tomorrow (most likely) then that’ll be it for a couple of days. 

Who should her love interest (or interests) be? I’m honestly struggling with who to put her with.

Caroline is off the table. As is Camille and Davina. 

I’ve got one idea but I want to hear your guys ideas first.
