Chapter 80 [Vault]

Title - The 100: The Hidden King | Chapter 7

__________________________________________________________________________

[3rd POV] [The next day]

It was the next day after they got to Tondc, and besides playing some chess with Lexa, and growing closer to the woman, Eivor had also been keeping an eye out for the spotter. The one that would bomb the village into oblivion, and one that she wished to find and take care of before he even had a chance to do a spotting. She hadn’t caught sight of them just yet, but she knew it was only a matter of time before she found the little rat, and got rid of him before he caused some serious damage.

At the moment Eivor was sitting with Lexa, as a woman stood next to the latter. The woman in question was Indra, the chief, and leader of Tondc, and the Trikru, aka the Woods Clan.

“This is the one you spoke of? The outsider that wishes to begin trade?” Indra asked, looking to Lexa who nodded.

“She is. She has much to offer, from what she has shown me so far. From teachings on English, and how to read, write, and learn it. To superior techniques in farming and hunting. Trust me when I say, that listening to her will be for the best, Indra” Lexa spoke, causing Indra to turn to Eivor in much more interest than before.

“What sort of techniques in hunting?” Indra asked, as hunting was one of their main sources of food, and at the moment, the most reliable.

“Matters what animals you are hunting. But we’ve got teachings on how to properly hunt deer, elk, bears, rabbits, various birds, and all sorts of creatures really” Eivor replied with a shrug, as this was true. She made sure that everything was written down in word form so that other villages (once they learned to read) could use it to their advantage. They even have small pictures to give more detail and everything.

“Deer, Rabbits, Elk, and birds are the primarily what is hunted by my people” Indra replied, inwardly surprised that Eivor had knowledge in so many different areas, and many of them being incredibly important and potentially helpful to her people.

“Hmm, I believe I’ve got a book that can teach all three of the former. While the latter is a book by itself. What your people really need is something different, though” Eivor replied, causing Lexa to raise an eyebrow.

“And what is that?”

“How to properly build shelter, because no offense to your people, but these houses of yours are…awful, in terms of safety and shelter, at least” Eivor replied bluntly, causing Indra to frown.

“And your homes are better?”

“Yes, they are. We use teachings from the old world, back when technology was much more advanced. We use said teachings to make homes quicker than what I imagine you can, and safer as well. Not to mention they are larger, not nearly as cold inside, don’t rust, and even have chimney’s and fireplaces within them” Eivor replied, causing both of them to go wide eyed slightly.

Chimneys and fireplaces were very very rare and tended to only be in the homes of the Chiefs/Leaders of the Tribe, and very high-ranking individuals. But having that in every home was unbelievable in their eyes.

The more Eivor spoke about her Village, the more Lexa was interested in her and her people, and the potential of them joining the Coalition. The knowledge they held alone, was seemingly beyond what any of the Coalition had, besides perhaps the Sky People.

“How long do they take to build?” Indra asked, leaning forward slightly in interest. As such knowledge could improve the lives of all of her people.

“If you have the materials and the proper amount of workers who know what they’re doing? A month or so. But my people, due to their skill in the area, can build a home in as little as a week. Your people would first need to properly learn the techniques, which would require hands-on experience with builders from my village. So I expect you could start building homes within a few months, and complete a home within a month or so” Eivor replied after thinking for a few moments. Building houses for her people was rather easy, due to the coordination, skill, and experience they all had. But for Indra’s people? It’d take a while to properly learn how to build a home, and it would require more than just a book.

They both looked awed again, as once more, that is far faster than anything they could do. It took them months to create a single home of subpar design, and even longer for a genuinely good home.

“How? How is such a thing possible? It takes us months just to create a singular house, and that is without a chimney” Indra asked, looking at her.

“Simple, my people are well trained, and know how to do their job. Yours can be too, should we properly begin this trade” Eivor replied with a smile, knowing that they were going to ask that question.

“What could we possibly offer for such knowledge? I…am not sure if my people have anything that would be of use to you” Indra replied, deciding not to lie.

“Hmm, how about you trade us knowledge of the local plants and animals, and I’ll give you the first batch of books. BUT, this won’t just be a trade deal, should you accept this, you will be our allies, and us yours. I hope you understand what that entails?” Eivor asked, causing Indra to blink, as that offer was…honestly even better than the teachings. As the more Eivor spoke on her people, the more they realized that her village was far more advanced than anything they had.

“I…will have to speak with my people on this. But…I believe we will accept this offer, as what you are offering is simply too good to pass on. But I must ask, why offer so much for so little in return?” Indra asked, causing Eivor to smile.

“Because I am a good judge of character, and I believe working with you will be a boon to both of our people. Plus, these teachings aren’t much to my village, so we don’t lose anything from teaching you” Eivor replied with a shrug, causing the two of them to just look at her. She was completely different than the normal heads of a village, as most of them were manipulative, secretive, and very argumentative. She was practically the opposite.

“...I see. For now, let me speak with my people. We should have a decision made within a few days” Indra replied, causing Eivor to nod in acceptance, as it is understandable.

‘Alright, that should we one Tribe allied with me…only a few more to go’

[Later]

A few hours had passed, and Eivor was quietly and discreetly making her way through the forest.

“I’ve got the target in sight sir, se-” A voice sounded out, before it could finish, Eivor grinned and snapped his neck cleanly, a sickening crack sounding out through the area as he dropped to the ground, dead.

‘Alright, that should be all the spotters gone’ Eivor thought, grabbing the dead mans targeter and crushing it, and every other piece of technology on him, before grabbing him, and throwing him over her shoulder. He was quite short, so she was able to do this.

Looking at the corpse, Eivor sighed and began to walk off.

‘Lets get this little…thing to the Village’

That’s the end of the chapter!

Next chapter should be roughly the same length, if not slightly longer. I plan on uploading a vault chapter or two later today. Unique Gamer will be getting updated as well.

Anyways, have a good day!
