Chapter 87 [Vault]

Title - The Walking Dead: The Other Wordly Couple | Chapter 1

[3rd POV]

Within a large room, two women lay. 

One was dark-haired, had light skin with ever so slightly toned arms, b cup breasts, and was roughly 5’7, all culminating into a gorgeous figure. 

[Faceclaim: Kate Beckinsale]

The other was curled up against her, softly snoring. She was slim figured, noticeably more toned, had dark-colored hair, roughly the same as the other woman, and had gorgeous olive-colored skin. She was slightly shorter than the other woman, by not even an entire inch. 

[Faceclaim: Zoe Saldana]

The two were nuzzled against one another, with the slightly shorter woman buried into the slightly taller woman neck. Their arms were around one another, and laying upon their most important ring fingers, was matching rings. 

Slowly, a soft groan escaped the taller woman’s throat, as she began to slowly open her eyes.

Blinking away the exhaustion, she smiled as she looked down “Wake up, darling” She softly spoke, a deep velvety British accent being the most noticeable thing about her voice, as well as it’s rather…sexy charm. 

“Mmm, do I have to?” The other woman replied, a soft grunt of annoyance escaping her lips, which were soon pecked by the other woman. 

“Yep, it’s 8 darling. And while neither of us work anymore, I do believe you wish to keep that same sleeping schedule, right?” The other woman asked, causing her wife to sigh and nod, as slowly she sat up. 

“Yeah yeah, I know” The woman said with a small sigh, having missed the sleep already. 

“No need to complain, love. After all, you can join me for the shower~” The other woman purred, causing her wife to blush slightly. 

“Well…I guess waking up ain’t too bad” She said with a small grin as she got up and followed after her wife.

[A little later]

“So, how was your sleep tonight? You didn’t wake up and leave the bed again, did you?” The British-accented woman asked her wife, as she sipped on her morning coffee. 

“Kate, I’m fine, trust me. Had I had an…attack, you would know, just like you always do” She responded, causing the British woman now known as Kate, to sigh. 

“I know love, but I just want to make sure” Kate responded with a soft smile, knowing that her wife didn’t like talking about her PTSD attacks. She usually had violent nightmares or had the attacks during stuff like fireworks going off, and a few other situations that caused them. They didn’t happen nearly as often as they used to, but when they did, they tended to be quite bad. 

Her wife just gave her a small smile in return, knowing that Kate was just being sure that she was okay. 

Leaning forward, she softly locked lips with her, causing Kate to smile “I love you, Kate” 

“And I love you, Zoe Ravensfield” Kate responded with a smirk, causing Zoe to let out a small laugh. 

“You never fail to tease me about that, don’t you? You just love that I’ve got your last name” Zoe said, causing Kate to grin, as she walked up and wrapped her arms around her wife’s waist. 

“Mmhmm, I just love the fact that my drop-dead gorgeous wife has my last name, just how I know you love me talking about it” Kate said with a grin, causing Zoe to blush slightly. 

“You’re adorable” Kate added before locking lips with her wife softly. 

“Ah ah ah, we did way too much of this in the shower” Zoe said, pulling back from the kiss, causing Kate to pout slightly. 

“Fine, fine. You wanna watch The Walking Dead?”

“That would make it, what, the 12th time we’ve watched it?” Zoe responded with a raised eyebrow. 

“Oh don’t act like you don’t love the show too! You were all like “But Kate, I wanna watch Walking Dead, not fuck all night” and I was all like “But I wanna-” “I did not say that” Zoe said with a deadpan at her wife, who just huffed. 

“Alright alright, love. But you know what I mean. You’re just as addicted to that show as I am” Kate responded, causing Zoe to stare before sighing. 

“Fine, I guess I can’t complain. Are we going to continue where we left off? Season 2 episode 1, right?” Zoe asked, causing Kate to nod. 

“Yep! Just after Sophia went missing, the poor thing” Kate responded, as the two moved into their spacious living room, and sat next to one another, pulling a blanket up over them as they leaned against each other, turning their favorite show on, as they both settled in. 

Neither of them knew that this would be their last day on Earth, or…that Earth at least.

[Location: ??????] [3rd POV]

Within a large, spacious, and seemingly infinite void, a woman began to slowly stir. This woman was Kate, as she slowly began to sit up. 

“What the blood-Zoe!? Zoe!” Kate stirred, before jumping up as she realized that she was certainly not in her living room, and Zoe was nowhere to be seen. 

“Kate?!” A voice sounded out from afar, causing Kate to breathe out a sigh of relief as she “rushed” over to her wife, who looked around warily, and with a large frown on her face. 

“You alright?” Kate asked, causing Zoe to nod. 

“Where the hell are we? One moment I remember you falling asleep against me, and I slowly did the same against you, and the next moment we’re here, in some…void?” Zoe asked, causing Kate to look around. 

“I’m not sure, love. But wherever it is, it’s certainly not a dream, and it feels way too real to be anything but reality. But…this is eerily like those fanfic situations you and I read when we were teenagers, right?” Kate asked, causing Zoe to blink several times at that, remembering the time before she served in the Military, the times before she was separated from Kate for over a decade. 

“Yeah-Yeah I remember. You sure this is that situation though, Kate? It’s a bit…unreal, isn’t it?” 

“Is there any other explanation for this?”

“Well no, but…don’t the people in those stories die to get to a place like this? Does-Does that mean we died?” Zoe asked, as she began look around hurriedly, her nerves beginning to rise as she realized that they might be dead. 

“Zoe! Zoe, relax, okay? I’m here love, I’m here. Don’t focus on whatever the hell is going on, focus on me, and my voice. Can you do that for me, baby?” Kate softly asked, grabbing her wife by her cheeks, knowing when a panic attack was coming. 

Zoe breathed in deeply as she focused on her wife’s eyes, as she sighed “Yeah-Yeah I can. I-I’m sor-” 

Cutting her wife off, Kate spoke. 

“None of that love, now, let’s figure out how to get the hell out of this place, shall we?” 

[No need]

A deep mechanical voice sounded out, causing them both to jump. With Zoe looking around rapidly, trying to find where it came from, while Kate frowned. Her wife was usually the more observant of the two, but she herself had been trained in combat just as much, if not more than Zoe. Courtesy of years of martial arts, and being even more skilled than Zoe in that area (although she always got her ass kicked at marksmanship). 

Turning to her wife, Zoe spoke “This is totally one of those cliche fanfic situations, isn’t it?” 

At her wife’s words, Kate sighed, before replying. 

“It seems so, love. And…I believe we’re the main characters in this situation”

That’s the end of the chapter!

This chapter came out…a lot better than I was hoping for, to be honest. 

I decided on just using the actors names for the characters, as I believe they fit them very well, and…I couldn’t think of anything better tbh. I also liked Zoe Saldana in Lioness, so I thought she’d be a good fit, and then add in some special background that I haven’t done before. Kate has her own special background that’ll be explained in the future, one that makes her arguably more deadly than Zoe in most situations. 

Obviously, there are no more love interests or anything like that, as they will remain with each other, and each other alone. 

I myself do not have PTSD (I do have anxiety though) so please forgive me if I get anything wrong with that, as Zoe will be my first genuine attempt at a main character with something like that. 

Both of them are the main characters of this story, but Kate is the “True” main character of sorts and will be the one we’ll be from the perspective of/location most of the time. 

What boon/power should I give them? 

Zoe won’t get anything huge, due to some circumstances, so what sort of gear should I give her? Nothing supernatural or sci-fi like. 

As for Kate, I was honestly thinking of something like a mash of Gwen’s system and Yelena’s ability from Spidergwen and that one Arrowverse fic. As in, she would get characters from one specific universe, but ONLY their knowledge, and nothing more. 

It’d be one universe at the start, and then 1 more per six months. So she’d have to wait a ton of time to get more. And she’d still struggle in just about any situation you could imagine, as she won’t be super overpowered or anything like that, just knowledgeable or skilled. 

Give me other ideas though, as I honestly don’t know what to give her!

Next chapter for this will be their reincarnation into TWD, some moments between the two, and some other stuff. Not sure when that’ll be created, as this is a vault fic. But this has a good chance of getting updated as much as the Valkyrie fic did.
