Playtest: The Delian Tomb

UPDATE: The feedback survey and playtest period for this adventure is now closed, but you can still grab the files below.

Hey folks! It's James here with a big update. The Draw Steel starter adventure, The Delian Tomb, is now ready for Patreon testing. It is attached to this post, so scroll down to grab the files.

The adventure includes the most up-to-date version of the rules for combat, negotiation, and all the rules you need to run it, including one pregenerated hero for each class.

There’s a few known issues we have that you don’t need to tell us about and some stuff we want you to know:

Thanks so much for checking out the adventure! Go forth and DRAW STEEL!

How do I share the survey with my players who aren't patrons?

Mike

Maps were updated in the zip file if you want to have another look

Haezan

The first level is missing a player's map I think. How many sessions is this aimed for?

Brandon Stewart

I've just read through the first part of the adventure and can I just say that this is an amazing starter for the game! I've been putting off running a game so far because, frankly, the full rules are a bit overwhelming (despite the fact that I've been following this from the beginning) - also as a neurodiverant person, there's only so much "cognative load" that I can deal with - but the fact that this adventure strips it down to the absolute essentials is great! I read Part 1 and said to myself "this is managable!" and this is exactly what I need to get over that mental barrier and get started! I also love the bit that says if you want to play immediately, ignore everything and just read xyz and we'll take you through the rest as you need it! Perfect! And wonderfully reassuring!

holy crap. the original Delian Tomb fit on a single page. I can't even count the number of files in this adventure, let alone the number of pages.

The maps aren't completed yet, so we're sharing what we have as we get it. There is a new version of that map up now. -James

Having the encounter information separate from the rest of the adventure info is super helpful

Wade

It can take a group anywhere between 25 to 35 hours. -James

Always blown away by how much the mcdm puts in to making this playable! I genuinely feel like reading through this I could actually just USE the adventure! Amazing!

So excited for this! Downloading while on vacation so I can prepare to run when I get home

Liam Fullerton

Also, for the first level of the tomb, there's the Director map with labels, but not a player version without labels and traps. That is to say rather than a different map there would be a player version of the same map normally.

mAc Chaos

Whoa, this is so much more expanded than the original. How many sessions do you reckon it is supposed to take?

I’m excited to play! I was just thinking about how to introduce my TTRPG group. Might still wait for the final pdf for the nice art and layout, but excited!

Michael Hughes

The pregens have the most up to date rules, so we'd prefer if folks use those. -James

Will you be interested in feedback that uses custom characters, or just play tested characters?
