[3rd POV]
Walking through the streets of the Southern Water tribe, Gwen and the girls were looking around, Gwen with a small smile, liking the atmosphere, while the girls had looks of slight awe at the beauty of the place, with even Raven having a small excited gleam in her eyes.
“It’s a shame the southerners have abandoned all connections to the spirits, even during the most hallowed times” Unalaq said, as he walked through the streets in front of them.
“I’ve always loved the glacier spirits festival. It’s fun” Korra replied.
“It’s beautiful here, too” Gwen added, as she looked over the games and foods that she was definitely going to try with the girls. She also noticed some that looked like they could be interesting to make too.
‘Gonna have to ask them about their recipes for some of those’ Gwen noted, as she noticed the skill at which many of the dishes were made. Some of them using techniques and ingredients she hadn’t really thought of before.
Korra smiled at what Gwen said, and was about to reply, only for Unalaq to cut them off, ruining the mood “This festival used to be a solemn time of fasting and meditation. Now it’s just a chance to watch some rube try to stick an entire arctic hen in his mouth” Unalaq said, causing the group to turn, deadpanning at the sight of Bolin doing exactly that.
“Wha-What? It’s good!” Bolin said muffled as he had an entire arctic hen in his mouth, or most of it at elast.
“No offense Unalaq, but what’s to say that they don’t also practice that? This could just be something they do for the tourists visit, while the rest of the tribe practices the fasting later on” Gwen said, causing Tonraq to crack a small smile.
“She is right about that, as while traditions change, some of us still practice them. Those that do are treated with the respect they deserve for continuing them. And it’s not the end of the world if they do change” Tonraq said, as it was true. While a good bit of them had no longer followed those traditions, there was still a good majority of the tribe that did follow them, and there was no reason to stop them.
“Tell that to the sailors who are being attacked by angry spirits in Southern Waters. Some traditions have purpose” Unalaq said, staring his brother down.
“Wait, spirits are attacking ships?” Korra asked, having not known about this, a frown on her face as she looked to her uncle.
“I’m surprised the Avatar doesn’t know about that. Apparently you haven’t been given all the information you need. It would be my honor to instruct you in the spiritual ways of the Water Tribe” Unalaq said, looking at his niece who looked to be considering the idea.
“I wouldn’t mind learning about fighting spirits. Air bending is getting…kinda boring” Korra said, giving Tenzin a look, as the man’s teaching methods had…not been working as of recent. Gwen had been doing her best to help the man, but he was…stubborn as hell, and decided to follow his own methods again. Why? Hell if she knows.
“Tenzin is Korra’s instructor in Airbending. Just as Gwen is her instructor in every other area that matters. They can give her all the training she needs” Tonraq replied. He was technically right, even if he didn’t know it.
While they were talking, Gwen ended up finally making use of her mind reading, and yoinked all of Unalaq’s knowledge in regards to spirits, as it was one of the few areas she was a bit lacking in, in regards to the Avatar Universe. With that came his knowledge on how to purify dark ones, and return them back to the spirit realm. She planned on using this little power much more in the next world, and even a bit in the current one.
“So you’ve said” Unalaq said, giving Gwen a glance. She was…impressive, in his eyes. He knew of her teachings, and this statement surprisingly wasn’t directed towards her, but Tenzin. As even he understood that Gwen was an incredibly proficient teacher.
Seeing the three walk off to the Southern Tribe’s “Castle” of sorts, Gwen turned to the girls with a small grin.
“Wanna get some food? I saw some interesting water tribe dishes I think could be good! Not to mention all the games” Gwen asked, causing their eyes to light up and nod. While Korra glanced back at her, sighing.
“Don’t worry Korra, you can join us tonight” Gwen whispered, making sure Korra could hear it, causing her to smile brightly, and turn back to walk with Tenzin, Tonraq, and Unalaq.
“Now, let’s try some of these dishes, shall we?” Gwen said with a smile, as they walked off, ready to find some southern cuisine to try.
Walking over to a nearby stall, Gwen looked over the foods, they almost looked like cookies, but were…green?
Noticing Gwen’s slight surprise at the dishes, the woman at the stand giggled “You must not be from around here, are you, young lady?” The older woman asked with a smile, causing Gwen to chuckle and nod.
“These are kale cookies, and seaweed cookies. They might sound…gross to outsiders, but trust me, if you’ve got the right pallet, they can be delicious!” The woman said, causing Gwen to smile and bring out some money.
“Is this enough?” Gwen asked, placing several yuan bills onto the stand.
“Oh dear! That is far too much” The woman said shaking her head rapidly.
“It’s fine, ma’am. It’s a festival, and I’m in a giving mood. Just take it alright? Oh, and Get 8 of the freshest Kale cookies, and Seaweed cookies you have!” Gwen said with a smile, as she placed the bills into the womans hands, before the woman breathed in and raced off to make a fresh batch.
It didn’t take long before they were in their hands, and they were walking off, but not before giving the woman a wave.
Biting into the kale cookie, Gwen blinked at the taste as her enhanced sense of taste gave her all the information she needed. “Wow that is…quite good” Gwen said with a surprise, as she bit into the cookie again with a pleased sigh.
“This is…delicious, can you make these too?” Raven asked as she practically inhaled the cookie. M’gann seemed to be doing about the same, while only Artemis seemed to not like the cookie.
“I feel bad…” Artemis muttered, as she realized she didn’t like it.
“It’s fine, Artemis, she did say that not everyone will like them. And I’m sure Raven will eat the rest of the cookie” Gwen said with a chuckle as Raven snatched the cookie and inhaled it, but not before breaking off the areas around where Artemis bit into.
“What about the seaweed cookie?” M’gann asked, causing Gwen to hand them each one, before biting into it as well.
“Hmm, kind of salty, but not bad. I prefer the kale ones though” Gwen said, as ate the cookie. It seemed the others agreed, with Artemis actually liking this one.
“It’s better than the Kale one, but it’s a bit overly salty” Artemis noted, causing Gwen to nod, as she noticed all the ways she could improve them with other toppings and additions.
“I’ll have to make these too, maybe add some black sesame or something?” Gwen muttered, as she swallowed the last bit of the cookie.
Looking to the girls who had finished her cookies, Gwen grinned and spoke.
“So, what games do you want to play first?”

That’s the end of the chapter!
This was basically just a slice of life chapter where they tried cookies lol.
Next chapter will be some festival stuff, and then more plot progression. I’m in the process of adding a ton of new characters to the TL wheel (currently at 207), as I’ve realized that a majority of the servants in Fate are at that level, with only the likes of Karna, Arjuna, Solomon, and like a few others being higher (planetary for most of them). Even Tiamat isn’t really all that strong, as VS battles when it comes to Fate, is…really, really inconsistent (as somehow damaging someone that has damaged another that damaged another (on an on) makes her Multiversal? Like what?). So yeah, like I said, I’ll be using my own beliefs, and what other people believe (Fate Subreddit ftw) for a lot of them.
Not sure if I’ll be updating a vault chapter tonight or not, as I posted like 3 last night, but we’ll see.
Anyways, have a good day!

The TL wheel now has a total of 610 characters in it, after literally over 5 hours of searching, research, and stuff like that. I imagine there's a couple repeats of characters, but I can't be bothered to find them. Would y'all want me to make a link or whatever for it, so you can see the full scope of characters she can pull from? This is for the TL wheel. I've still got to do the NL one.

2024-11-05 18:29:22 +0000 UTCYeah that's why I'm always using the servant versions of them. As I do know that certain servants (when living) are much stronger. But from what I can tell, a lot of the characters on the site are scaled really weirdly. But yeah, Servant Tiamat is in the wheel, but living (non servant) versions are not, as is the case for every other Fate character I have put into the wheel.

2024-11-05 18:27:12 +0000 UTCAs far as I know, Tiamat when summoned as a servant is incredibly weakened which is the version they use on the vs wiki, at her full power in her own body she conceptually represents life, birth and a few other things across every universe associated with Fate. Every single heroic spirit is meant to be weaker in their servant body than they were whilst they were alive as far as I know.
