Chapter 91 [Vault]

Title - Mordred: The Master of Skills and Phantasms | Chapter 1

“You’ve got to be kidding me” A voice sounded out within an infinite void of absolute dark. The voice was feminine, evidently young, and positively pissed. 

[I am not. You, young woman, have died. It is now your time to reincarnate into a new world, with a select set of powers that shall randomly be given to you. You shall reincarnate into the world of Marvel, and your appearance shall be warped into what you desire]

“...Okay, my complaints are less, but Marvel is like…top 5 most dangerous universes imaginable”

[This universe is based around the comics, but with heavy influences of the MCU]

“Well that’s arguably worse, there goes all knowledge of canon I had beforehand” The teen muttered with a groan of annoyance, albeit inwardly she was more excited than anything. 

[Now that you know what you are getting into, let us spin the wheel]

The voice spoke out, causing the young woman to blink as a wheel flickered into vision. 

[3 abilities shall be chosen from this wheel, all of them being completely random. I wish you luck, youngling]

After the voice spoke, the wheel began to spin by rapidly, the sounds of the wheel spinning by filled the area before eventually, it began to come to a stop. 

[Skill Master - The user is the “Master of Skills” which allows the user to receive, unlock, and gain skills from the fictional universe known as “Type Moon” or “Fate” and the connected universes. The user may gain skills from more universes in the future, but they are currently limited to this alone. The user receives skill through completing quests like a game, and will Skill Tickets (ST) as a reward for completion, the harder the quest, the higher the reward. There is also such thing as rank-specific ST such as E Rank, EX Rank, etc. This also gives the user a status of sorts that will keep track of the skills so far]

[Noble Phantasm Master - The user is the “Master of Phantasms” which allows the user to receive, unlock, and gain Noble phantasms from the fictional universe known as “Fate” or “Type Moon” and the connected universes. The user receives these through quests just like “Skill Master” and the tickets for these are known as Noble Phantasm Tickets or PT. And just as ST, there are ranked tickets]

[Immunity - The user is absolutely, completely, and truly immune to all cloning, power stealing, power copying, power absorption, power sealing, and all similar abilities, all memories regarding their past life shall be sealed so that not even the likes of the Phoenix Force may gaze upon them]

[You will also receive infinite potential. Your form has already been created, based off of your preferences and likes. You shall appear at the same age as you are currently, aka 17. Enjoy your new life…Mordred]

“Okay what the fu-”

The young woman known as Mordred, couldn’t continue as everything went dark.

[3rd POV] [Location: ???????]

Within a small bedroom, a teen lay. She was short, standing at roughly 5’0 tall. Blonde hair cascaded behind her, a small form with a decent bit of muscle on her abs, with some slight “development” in the chest area, and a bit in the back as well. She was overall quite…tomboyish. 

Slowly, her eyes began to creep open, revealing gorgeous green eyes. This, was Mordred, the recent reincarnator, and an incredibly annoyed one. 

“Fuckin hell system, you could have at least given me a warning or something” Mordred groaned out slightly, as she sat up. Blinking at her voice, Mordred look around a few moments, before getting to her feet and walking into the small bathroom. Looking into the mirror, Mordred stared for a moment, before grinning. 

“Wow I’m hot! Might still be short, but these babies more than make up for that” Mordred said, patting her toned abs. 

“Plus, who needs big tits? They’d get in the way” Mordred said, waving off the idea, before walking back into the bedroom, tying her hair into a ponytail. 

“So…where’s this ability of mine?”

‘Huh that’s…not as bad as I was expecting to be honest. Guess even the system or whatever the hell it is, knows that I’m kinda fucked unless I get stronger quickly’ Mordred thought, genuinely surprised. 

“Go ahead and use all of them” Mordred said, deciding to get this over quickly, so she could find out where the hell she was. 

[A Rank - Eternal Arms Mastery (A+ Rank): This skill, in essence, prevents the degradation of fighting skills when under mental hindrance (like mind control, being unconscious, angry, etc). At the maximum rank for this skill, this works under any mental hindrance you can imagine. Meaning the user will always be able to properly fight back, no matter the mental hindrance]

[C Rank - Clairvoyance: : The visual ability, also called Hawkeye, that improves both static visual acuity and kinetic vision. It affects the accuracy of bows, and allows the user to execute their "ultra-long-range sniping" precisely even against targets moving at high speeds as long as they are within a four-kilometer range. With accuracy transcending the realm of men, it is an ability often used for scouting that is able to fully survey the town simply upon looking down from a high location. In essence, it allows the user to see at far ranges and is a form of super sight, there are superior forms of this skill]

[Noble Phantasm | God Hand: The Twelve Labours - The Noble Phantasm of Heracles, and one of the most cheat-like abilities out there, an ability that is quite similar to the likes of Doomsday. It, in essence, is a “Armor” around the user, that isn’t physically shown such as real armor but is instead the user's very body itself. It defends against all attacks of B-rank and below, regardless of whether it’s magical, physical, or whatever else. Only A-rank and above attacks can even harm the user. It also has two other abilities. One is resurrection, which allows the user to resurrect 11 (so a total of 12 deaths) more times and grants the user practically immunity (With only a handful of items or abilities being able to get around this) to whatever killed them in the previous death. It also grants the user the ability to adapt to whatever harms them (even if it doesn’t kill them), as long as they regenerate from it to the point that subsequent attacks will be much less effective, and borderline useless. The user's regeneration is bolstered a good bit, allowing them to heal from nonfatal wounds within 5 minutes, fatal ones that kill the user, take as long as 3 days. The resurrection takes on average a total of 10 seconds. It is possible to take multiple lives, but it needs a strong enough attack to do so. The resurrection process does require mana]

‘...The first skill is sorta useless to me right now, considering I don’t know jack shit about fighting, besides some boxing classes in my past life. The second is…really damn good, as it’ll basically make me a better Hawkeye. But that noble phantasm…holy fuck I don’t even know what to say to that one’ Mordred thought, somewhat disappointed with the skills, but the phantasm MORE than made up for it. 

It was easily one of the most overpowered phantasms she could have gotten, and probably one of the most useful to gain in the beginning. As it meant that she’d only continue to adapt and grow after future battles, becoming better and better through her battles. The perfect phantasm for a world like this. There were only a couple of others that could have been better, that being Knight of the Owner, Gate of Babylon, and Age of Babylon. Most of the other ones would need mana, something Mordred (to her knowledge) had none of, or very very little of. She needed something like the dragon magical core that Artoria had, to be able to properly use those. 

[Assimilate?] [Y/N]

“Go ahead”

[Beginning assimilation. This may feel slightly uncomfortable]

“Wait what do you mean uncomf-” Mordred wasn’t able to continue as she was assaulted by an incredibly strange feeling. It wasn’t particularly painful, but it was…very very uncomfortable, like the system (or her ability) stated. It was like a billion tiny ants were crawling over every surface of her body, which was…not a very nice feeling. It wasn’t painful, thankfully. 

The feeling lasted for nearly 5 minutes as Mordred just sat there, not moving as she let the assimilation happen, as her eyes began to glow and her sense of sight began to warp and change. She began to see much more than before, seeing fine details she couldn’t before, as she fully assimilated the Claryvoyance skill. And finally, after another few minutes, the assimilation was done. Her skin now had a slight dark tint to it, before it changed back to normal. 

“Wow…that was not a fun feeling” Mordred muttered.

‘Looks like it’s been nice since I’ve just gotten here’ Mordred thought, before speaking out loud “Claim it”

[A Rank - All Kinds of Talents: In essence, this skill grants the user talent in every area they put their mind to. As the original skill user Richard I had it like this “He can do anything he practiced when he was alive at B Rank or higher, and learns faster than normal for matter he only just got started”. This means the user will be talented at all things they put their minds to, and will rapidly develop in them]

“That…is like…one of the best skills I could have gotten at this point” Mordred muttered, as she desperately needed to learn martial arts and such, but she doubted she had any real talent in the area. But now, now she did. And while it wasn’t going to be one the levels of masters like Shang Chi, or master in other areas like Reed Richards and science, it would add up rapidly, when combined with more and more skills, will become incredibly useful, especially in the Marvel universe. 

“Go ahead and assimilate that one too” Mordred said. 

The assimilation this time was pretty much instant, as it wasn’t a physical change but a mental one and one that affected her very soul. So…it felt like nothing happened, and then it was done. 

“Huh…thought there’d be more of a change than that” Mordred said with a blink of surprise. 

“Well now that that shit is over with, let’s find out where the hell I am” Mordred said, as she walked out of her bedroom, into what seemed to be a decent-sized apartment. 

Walking to the kitchen counter, Mordred noticed a newspaper sitting there. Grabbing it, her eyes widened as she noticed the date. 

“February 14th, 2005”

But it was what was next to it that really got her attention, the name of the newspaper. 

“Salem Center Newspaper” Mordred read out, as she breathed out, now knowing exactly where she was.

“Fuck…I’m in the same town as the X-Men!”

This was an idea I had that I thought “Why not make it?” and boom. The mc is going to get pretty strong, as the skills she’s getting are already incredibly strong when combined, not to mention her whole 12 lives thing. 

I’ve got two love interests in mind for this fic, with a potential third. Two of them are X-Men/Mutants. 

Next chapter will be a short time skip. This fic won’t be based off any one movie or comic, and will instead take ideas from a bunch of areas, with my own spin on things. The MCU will be a huge point though, as most of those events will still happen, just slightly different. 

This is going to be my first try at an MC who is loud, somewhat brash (only when appropriate), and basically with a personality similar to Mordred from Fate.
