Chapter 95 [Vault]

Title - Mordred: The Master of Skills and Phantasms | Chapter 3

[3rd POV]

A little over 3 weeks had passed since Mordred's new friends had joined the school, and life had been…nice. She enjoyed school hanging out with them (especially Jean and Rogue but she wouldn’t admit that out loud), and had been completing some other quests on the side, a few of which she had already finished by now.

With all the skills and noble phantasms she could claim, Mordred had a bit to do. But for now, she was at school, eating lunch as her friends ate around her. 

“So Mordred, what’re you doing after school?” Jean asked, as she stared at the girl that she was growing more and more interested in. The fact that she couldn’t see into her mind was…strangely liberating, and she was the only one too. 

“Not really anything, as usual” Mordred said with a shrug, as thanks to her incredible talent, she had already learned and gotten to a high level of jiu jitsu and karate. 

Looking at one another, Jean spoke “How would you like to come with us? To the school we attend I mean. Our professor wants to meet you” 

Raising an eyebrow at this, Mordred looked at Jean “You mean the school for mutants?” 

At these words, they all stilled as their eyes shot wide “Wha-” “I’m not dumb you know, you’re also not as quiet as you guys think. Plus I saw Kitty phase through a door once” Mordred said with a shrug, as they all looked at her. 

“And-And you’re not weirded out? We’re mutants” Rogue asked. 

“Hmm? No? So what if you got powers? You’re still my friends, and whether or not you can phase through walls, or read minds or whatever, doesn’t matter to me” Mordred replied, genuinely not caring. 

“You’re weird” Scott said bluntly, causing Mordred to snort. 

“Yeah I could say the same about you, tint eyes” Mordred replied with an eye roll. 

Scott rolled his eyes at the insult, before Jean spoke. 

“Not in a bad way, Mordred. It’s in a good way. Most humans don’t…don’t react kindly to our kind, but you don’t really seem to care which is…different” 

“Yeah well they’re a bunch of racist morons. I’m far too classy to do something like that. Anyways, when should I go over to this school of yours?” Mordred asked, causing Jean to hum. 

“How about 4 or 5? You can have dinner with us and everything. I’m sure Professor Xavier won’t mind” Jean said, causing Mordred to shrug. 

“Anytime is fine with me. As long as none of the teachers there are too annoying, it should be fine” Mordred replied. 

“Well I think it’ll just go fine!” Kitty said with a beaming smile, happy that Mordred was accepting the invitation. 

‘Hopefully this goes well’

Later into the day, Mordred was at home, as she decided to claim all her ST and NT in the case of an attack (which knowing how often the mansion was attacked, it was better safe than sorry).

Mordred just stared at the tickets with a deadpan ‘I don’t even know what to fucking say about this one’ Mordred said, not even uttering a word as she just sighed. 

“Alright, claim all of them”

[Knight of the Owner: A Knight Does not die with empty hands (A++ Rank) - Once the user grabs a hold of anything that can be even remotely conceptualized as a weapon by their own recognition with his and they recognizes that they wish to wield it, it instantly gains the property of "becoming your Noble Phantasm."  It can only be activated for objects recognized as "this is a weapon", so they could use a steel chair if they happened to be skilled in wrestling. The ability allows for something as worthless as a piece of scrap iron to be turned into a demonic spear or sword capable of damaging Servants and striking legendary weapons. They can make use of weaponry regardless of how it was created or its time of origin, allowing the user to take control of anything from legendary weapons to modern weapons and machinery. This also may work on abstract weapons, such as “Invisible Air” (A noble phantasm).  The strength of the weapons is great enough that they can easily clash with Excalibur repeatedly despite normally being mundane objects that would be cut like butter by a Noble Phantasm, and modern weapons turned into Noble Phantasms will be greatly strengthened and have modified capabilities. The user can give up the weapons at any time, returning them to their natural state, and immediately switch to another without any trouble. The weapons will stay under control for a brief moment after the user lets go of their grip, allowing them to be used as deadly projectiles. The items will be advanced to D Rank Noble Phantasms, and if the user takes another Servant's Noble Phantasm of a superior rank, its quality will be maintained while under the users control. This works on anything from guns, blades, melee weapons, fighter jets, and many many many more types of “weapons” as long as the user sees them as a weapon, even rocks can potentially be classified as a weapon]

[Goddess of War: War God’s Military Sash (A Rank) - A band of fabric with a plain pattern drawn upon it. Despite its appearance, it seethes with an abnormal amount of magical energy and possesses a divine aura thick enough to make it seem like a god itself had used it.Wearing it greatly increases the user's Divinity, Strength, Endurance, Agility, and Mana parameters. Its power is enough to allow Hippolyta (the previous user) to cause an eruption with a single punch. In essence, it strengthens the users attributes when worn]

[Samson Agonsistes: I am the Champion of Contrition (EX Rank) - A rather unique and yet powerful noble phantasm. This Noble Phantasm is constantly active, granting the user unparalleled strength, limitless stamina, and unfathomable vitality. The weakness of this noble phantasm is that should the users hair get cut by a woman, the users strength given and the infinite stamina and vitality, would decrease astronomically. 

[Dragon Reactor Core (B Rank) - The magical core of a dragon. This gives the user what is essentially a “Factory” that makes magical energy, instead of a singular “Machine” that creates magical energy, like normal magical circuits. This is all done through simply breathing like a dragon. The amount of Magical Energy it generates rivals the heat of the Earth's core, and will grant the user magical energy that is said to “Rival the Gods”. Due to the effect of “Dragon-Kind” the magical energy the user possesses, is even higher than normal]

[Beautiful Appearance (C Rank) - is a Skill that combines natural beauty with clothing, creating an aura (though not the figure) of genderless beauty. Basically, it makes the user more beautiful and charming]

[Chinese Martial Arts (A+++ Rank) - is a Chinese rationality. A value that measures one's mastery of the martial arts that made becoming one with the universe as its objective. Its learning difficulty is of the highest level and, unlike other Skills, it is at A Rank that one is at a level where one is said to have finally "learned it". Those with ranks exceeding A are considered true masters of the arts. In essence, it makes the user a master of Chinese Martial arts to an incredibly high extent]

[Mana Burst (A+ Rank) -  is the increase in performance caused by infusing one's weapons and body with Magical Energy and instantly expelling it. Simply put, recreating the effect of a jet burst by expending large amounts of Magical Energy. It can also be used to increase the users defense, speed, attack power, and overall attributes. At A+ Rank, the user can draw magic from the land, using the skill without draining their own reserves. For reference At Rank A, even a stick can become a weapon of great power. A normal weapon that is not on the level of a divine Mystery can be destroyed in one blow. Can also raise one's defense several times over]

[Dragon-Kind (EX Rank) - A skill that indicates that one is a natural-born dragon. This skill, in essence, gives the user massive reserves of Mana, increased physical attributes, increased magical resistance, and all the natural abilities of a dragon, basically turning the user into a Dragon]

[Crest of the Star (EX Rank) - A unique pattern that will be imprinted upon the users body. he higher the rank, the higher one's attack power is increased. By expending Magical Energy through it, The user can temporarily enhance the performance of any desired part of the body. An efficient Skill that costs little mana but lacks the explosiveness of Skills like Mana Burst. In addition, this unique Skill also has the effects of the Instinct Skill]

Mordred read through the noble phantasms with a dropped jaw, as she realized just how strong some of them were. Her jaw dropped even more upon reading the skills. As the combination of Dragon Kind and dragon reactor core would massively increase her mana (or give her some, as she wasn’t really sure if she had any beforehand). Would give her increased strength, magical resistance, and make her a total tank. Her mana would be even higher than the likes of Artoria Pendragon…and even Ibuki-Douji, the one that the EX Rank Dragon-Kind skill came from. Crest of the star would increase her physical attacks, and would be especially powerful combined with the chinese martial arts and the knight of the owner. And that was from Altera, an incredibly strong Fate Servant (or something much stronger, mattering on the timeline). Mana Burst was great for increasing her attributes even more through magic, magic that she had a living shit load of. Not to mention all the other abilities being a “Dragon” might give her. 

Goddess of War and Samson would both increase her overall attributes by a huge margin. It wouldn’t let her fight the likes of Hulk, Juggernaut, or any of the huge hitters in this universe, but it would certainly make her physically stronger than most. And thanks to her various abilities, it would only continue to get stronger. 

All in all, this was easily the best group of skills and Noble Phantasms so far, by an absolute mile. And while she would have preferred something like Excalibur, Gate of Babylon, or even Avalon, these were definitely better at the moment, as they would give her the necessary mana to even use the other phantasms she may get in the future. 

“Will I go unconscious if I was to assimilate?”

[Affirmative. But only for 1 hour at most]

‘I’ve got another few hours before I need to make my way to Xavier’s school. So that’s fine’ Mordred thought, a little annoyed that she’d have to unconscious again, but it did make sense, considering she was basically becoming a draconic entity from this. 

“Go ahead and assimilate”

And the second she said so, everything began to go dark, as she was once again pulled into a deep slumber.

That’s the end of the chapter!

Next chapter will be Morgan’s first official meeting with the Xavier school! And some other stuff will go down, of course. 

She’s now got some pretty strong Noble Phantasms and Skills, a few of them working very very well together, making her a bit of a powerhouse now. But she still has to learn how to use that power, and she still needs to get used to changes. Of course, she isn’t even remotely strong enough for the likes of Thor or any true heavy hitters, but she’s getting there.
