A Day at the Beach! End of Life.

PLEASE READ IF YOU'VE  EVER BEEN A FAN OF THE SITE:

A Day at the Beach is our oldest comic strip, and someone just shared or reposted on a popular forum.

It makes me really sad that some of you guys (I know that it's just a few) don't see how much time, finances and effort goes into this site and making a kink that most people out there doesn't get or enjoy.

But here we are AGAIN.  It's very disheartening that a person signs up and reposts the material like it was theirs., it belongs to us the members of the site and this community.

A Day at the Beach isn't he END of the WORLD but I am getting increasingly busy with my 9-5 job, and the common courtesy of those  who support and then repost or share.

As a result, I have decided to end the series, because of what happened like I did with Body Shaming

Sure, if I stop making this kind of comic, other people will come up  and you can go to the individual artists and maybe see more content like we've done here.

I go really hard in my personal life on everything I do. I pass up all my coworkers consistently in most professional aspect, so in that vain I have put SO MUCH WORK into this site, so that other people that were turned on be being made fun of and degradation could enjoy the same elements I do and that we can work together to make more.

I just think when I fade from the scene, maybe you'll see a book or two or strip of something you like every once in a while on the net, but I think you won't see giant strides of complex stories that tick a lot of the boxes you want. (I'm just being real.)

Make NO MISTAKE.  I don't plan on doing this site forever.  Actions like these bring me closer to the edge of stopping EVERYTIME.

I am sorry to those who respect our wishes, and protect the site.

If you want to make a stink about it, please take it up with  those people in the forums, maybe by changing the hearts and minds of those leaking we can avoid things like this.

We lost 200 patrons at the top of this month.

I know that I can't combat the piracy, but all I can hope for is that people understand that I am not some big CORPORATE CONGLOMERATE that can afford to make these comics when patronage goes down.

This site is hand to fist.  I front the costs of a big comic, pay artists and writers well and then I pay myself back for customs and for lettering and organizing. (I have a good job that is NOT  these comics)

I work about 60 hours a week on my regular job and here I put in a good 30 hours or more a week.  That's just because I love doing comics, but I can't afford to do it alone.

If you were ever, on the fence about sharing or reposting, I really hope that you take the time to read this and please try to understand how close I am to just freeing up my free time.

Thank you for listening to me rant and vent.

I really had to blog this out.

A Day at the Beach! is special to me and the site and I feel a little violated this afternoon by the leak.

Thank you to all of you that do not share and honor the site. you guys are the heart and soul of why we are still doing it 5 years later
