Every normal person in my life outside of work mentions Ukraine or Russia out of the blue every time I talk to them. My natural assumption is also that nobody really gives a shit at this point, so I've been caught off guard by it multiple times.

2023-04-15 16:03:26 +0000 UTCThere is a great book about San Francisco weirdness during the halcyon years from the 60s to the 80s called "Season of the Witch" with Jim Jones, DiFi becoming mayor after Dan White's twinkie-inspired (not really) massacre of Mayor Moscone and Harvey Milk, etc. I think it was John Burton of the Burton-- (Willie) Brown "progressive" Machine (& don't forget Willie brought Kamala Harris into politricks as his for-hire decades younger "girlfriend"), anyway Burton said Feinstein's issue in being gay-friendly but not getting it was "she just needed to get fucked really hard" but never had a guy who had the juice to fuck some sense into her empty suburban mom brain.
