Patch 0.4 expands the end of the beer pong night and kicks off “fight day,” adding new character routes, scenes and a smarter combat system. It also ships big sprite/CG updates and fresh animations across the board. On total this patch brings about 21k words, being one of the biggest patches we made wordwise so far.

Group scene: New conversation featuring Matt, Mafalda, Ren, and a new character introduced in this patch.

Diego – end-of-night route completed: Train with Diego and (depending on choices) spark something more. You’ll know it when you see it. 😉
Harry – morning follow-up: Extra content on the day after the party, only if you picked a certain option the previous night.

Main story continues: Start your morning in your room and head to the stadium as the big day begins.
Shape Ren’s past: Define parts of Ren’s backstory. Your choice affects future options, knowledge reveals and dialogue.
Affinity & Romance (first update): For the first time, your Affinity and Romance scores update. A temporary results window shows how many points you earned that night. (Presentation is WIP and will evolve.)

Combat AI overhaul: Opponents now adapt to your recent choices. They remember patterns and adjust so expect tougher matches.
New combat animations + SFX: Characters move, punch, get hit, dodge and block with new feedback.
No more fade-to-black close-ups: New approach animations bring characters closer (or let them approach you) in-scene.

Backgrounds: Added 5 general scenes/backgrounds, some with day/night variants.

Matt: No new CGs this patch. We’ve started sprite quality upgrades since he’s currently the most-voted character, he will be getting that update first but it isn’t ready yet.
Harry: Debut of his sober sprites. These include 3 outfits and 27 expressions, all sharper than previous sets. He also gets a new CG.
Joel: To help Joel stand out, we added around 31 expressions. He also gets a CG with 2 variants.
Rina: Newly introduced character with 19 expressions.She also gets a CG.
Diego: 2 new CGs added. We also updated his sprite proportion by tweaking it a bit. We intend to update his sprites as well at a later date to match our newer standard quality.

Matt’s training scene: Updated to the new adaptive combat AI. It’s hard until you learn Matt’s pattern.
Back-porting polish: Older content now uses the new animations plus updated Decision Echo and Knowledge notices.
Automatic text pauses: Implemented an auto-pause system for dialogue readability. Since it’s new, please report any oddities you find. 🙏
