I hate that part, but I've heard it discussed (and this makes sense) that it's Nate's attempt to be assertive like Rebecca was when she made herself "big"... but the problem is, instead of showing assertiveness, it's much more about self-hate since he often spits at himself in the mirror. Nate''s arc is one of the most interesting of the series. For anyone interested in human behavior/narcissism/bullying (me!) the various arcs are fascinating. The attention to detail of the writers is pretty amazing. I want to share more but I won't because - spoilers! - but I will be sharing my. views on healthy and toxic narcissism as more is revealed. Did you know that there's such a thing as healthy narcissism? Ted has it! You two do too... Grateful for this series on the series. I was a bit of a sports widow x2 so it's weird to be liking a "sports" show so much. American male sports fanatics are mostly dicks.
