I absolutely love this episode. I couldn’t wait until you guys got to it. The first time I was disappointed we never saw what Coach Beard was up to, but it’s probably better that way. And he did have his own stand alone episode anyway, so it’s all good.

So yeah, you'd never play a friendly during the season normally, but I know a lot of EPL sides did play a friendly or two in mid-late December of that year coming to the end of the break. And yeah, Arthur Bryant's is a real place in Kansas City, a favorite of KC-born Jason Sudeikis. It's one of Kansas City's original two nationally-known barbecue joints, along with Gates BBQ. (I think Ted Lasso also uses Arthur Bryant's as his phone or laptop screensaver...)
