Ever since I started watching your channel as you were exploring American sports, I wanted to show this movie to you. I really think itβs one of the greatest American sporting achievements that I know of. You can rest easy, I donβt think Iβve got anything else as intense as this. Honnold really is unique. I saw an interview where he said that not only was no one looking to repeat this climb, no one was attempting most of the free solos he used to prepare for it. Heβs the only one to have ever done many of them as well. One cool note that they didnβt go into in the movie. After he bailed on the Freeblast Slab, he used some time before the next attempt to scout a new route. Most climbers have to follow the bolts, but he realized that since he was free soloing anyway, he could go off course a bit to find holds that felt better to him.
