Final preview and some Build Tips - Patreon release tonight!

Hi Guys, Just thought I'd drop the final preview as I think I'll be able to release the full video on Patreon tonight! I LOVE this dwarven city build, and it really was the new mountainblocks that made it possible. Though you could do overhangs with the old MB the new versions make it instant and easy, and the magnetic connections make stability a breeze. You can knock the table quite heavily and models will fall over before the mountains do...

Also, the final images there are under VERY bright light to show the build clearly - under a normal room light the lava light would spread much further :)

I thought I'd drop some patreon exclusive insights here that I didn't fit in the video, but I think are useful. As you can see below you can use any leftover blocks to firm up stability and join different mountain 'sections' behind the scenes, so the whole thing is rigid:

Or, if you don't have leftover blocks, you can use nickel strip for a similar, if less strong effect:

On top of all of this, I added these buildings built into the mountain by using exterior walls for the front, and interior walls for the sides - giving a multi-level playable interior to show where minis shooting from windows are etc. If you were actually playing you could also add stairways using stairblocks and half-tiles :)

Finally, those old mountainblocks aren't totally useless - they make great spacers! I'm using mine for areas where I'd rather the spacers at least looked a little bit like stone 😂
