Some important Patreon ToS changes
Added 2016-09-03 18:19:25 +0000 UTChello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that a few days ago, all Patreon artists got a message about some changes in the ToS, I read it and there were a few small changes, but there were a couple that really got to me.
The first one is that rewards can't be done in the form of raffles or gambling, so I'll need to change my 25$ and 40$ patron rewards to something else.
And the second one that affects me is that no content or rewards can be done with characters that are copyrighted anymore. I don't remember if this was always the case or not, but it's the first time I read about it. For those of you that also have your own Patreons, have you planned any changes? i'm not sure yet on what should do about this, since many people are interested in fanart (although luckily many of you are also interested in my own characters)
I'll need a few days to sort things out on how to handle this, but any ideas or opinions are more than welcome :)

ah I see, thanks for the imput. I don't really think I want to send fanarts through private messages though, part of what I want my patreon be like is that everyday there is new content available, sending them as messages would make people who will pledge later miss on that. I'll give it a thought though, thanks! :D

2016-09-04 00:03:10 +0000 UTCI think it's mostly Patreon covering their own ass, in case Disney or whoever decides they want to come after someone like Sakimi Chan who's making buckets of money off of fanart. A lot of other creators seem to be sending their fanart through a Dropbox link posted each month, so it's not actually hosted on Patreon itself.
